Blackwall Tunnel

The Blackwall Tunnel is a pair of road tunnels underneath the River Thames in east London, linking the London Borough of Tower Hamlets with the Royal Borough of Greenwich, and part of the A102 road. The northern portal lies just south of the East India Dock Road in Blackwall; the southern entrances are just south of The O2 on the Greenwich Peninsula. Before the opening of the Dartford Tunnel in 1963, the Blackwall Tunnel was the easternmost Thames crossing for vehicles, excluding ferries.

Trinity Buoy Wharf

Orchard House Yard

Poplar railway station

For the current station, see Poplar DLR station Poplar railway station was a railway station in Poplar, London that was on the London and Blackwall Railway between Millwall Junction and Blackwall. It opened on 6 July 1840 on the west side of Brunswick Street, to the north of the Blackwall Yard shipyard, and was resited five years later across the road on the east side. It remained open until its closure on 3 May 1926, when all passenger services on the line east of Stepney ceased.

Blackwall Yard

Blackwall Yard was a shipyard on the Thames at Blackwall, London, engaged in ship building and later ship repairs for over 350 years. The yard closed in 1987. The yard should not be confused with the nearby Thames Ironworks and Shipbuilding Company which although their head office address was in Blackwall, was based at Leamouth Wharf.

Poplar Dock

Poplar Dock is a small dock in east London. It connects to the Blackwall Basin of the West India Docks and, although independent of this system, has never had a direct connection to the Thames. Originally a series of reservoirs built by the West India Dock Company and completed in 1828, Poplar Dock was converted into a railway dock, in the days before any of London's enclosed dock systems were connected to the railway network.

Matter was a London music venue and nightclub that opened in September 2008, after three years of planning. A 2,600 capacity live music venue and nightclub, it was the second project for owners Cameron Leslie and Keith Reilly, founders of the London club Fabric. Matter is the third venue to open at The O2 in south-east London. Matter housed several visual installations, a sound system of some 200 speakers and a version of Fabric's 'BodySonic' dance floor, the 'BodyKinetic' floor.
