Ideal Home Show
The Ideal Home Show (formerly called the Ideal Home Exhibition) is an annual event in London held at the Earls Court Exhibition Centre. The show was devised by the Daily Mail newspaper in 1908 and continued to be run by the Daily Mail up until 2009. It was then sold to events and publishing company Media 10, who will continue to run a scaled-down and shorter version of the show at Earls Court until the exhibition centre is demolished.
Metropolitan Borough of Fulham
The Metropolitan Borough of Fulham was a Metropolitan borough in the County of London between 1900 and 1965, when it was merged with the Metropolitan Borough of Hammersmith to form the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. It was a riverside borough, and included the areas of Fulham, West Kensington, Walham Green, Parsons Green and Sands End. The SW6 postal district approximately follows the old Fulham parish.
Empress State Building
The Empress State Building is a skyscraper on the West Brompton/Earl's Court border in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. It was built in 1961 and was 100 metres tall with 28 floors, designed by Stone, Toms & Partners. It was renovated in 2003 to a design by Wilkinson Eyre Architects. Three floors and 17.3 metres were added to its height. 'Orbit' is the name given to the private revolving bar on the top floor which offers panoramic views of London.
Stamford Bridge (stadium)
Stamford Bridge /ˈstæm. fərd ˈbrɪdʒ/ is a football stadium located in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, London. It is the home ground of Chelsea Football Club. The stadium is located within the Moore Park Estate also known as Walham Green and is often referred to as simply The Bridge. The capacity is 41,837, making it the eighth largest ground in the Premier League.
Brompton Cemetery
Brompton Cemetery is located near Earl's Court in South West London, England (postal districts SW 5 and 10), in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. It is managed by The Royal Parks and is one of the Magnificent Seven. Established by Act of Parliament, it opened in 1840 and was originally known as the West of London and Westminster Cemetery. Brompton Cemetery, consecrated by the Bishop of London in June 1840, is one of the Britain's oldest and most distinguished garden cemeteries.
Earls Court Exhibition Centre
Earls Court Exhibition Centre is an exhibition centre, conference and event venue in London, United Kingdom. It is located within the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and is the largest such venue in central London. It is served by two London Underground stations, Earl's Court and West Brompton, opposite its entrances on Warwick Road and Old Brompton Road. Earls Court and the nearby Olympia are operated by EC&O Venues.

Lillie Bridge Grounds
The Lillie Bridge Grounds was a sports ground in London near to present day Stamford Bridge, opened around 1867. The ground started to fall into disuse after the opening of Stamford Bridge, and after a riot on 18 September 1887 which destroyed the track and grandstand, it finally closed in 1888. Lillie Bridge is these days better known as a London Underground (LUL) maintenance depot, and the Earls Court 2 annex of the Earls Court Exhibition Centre complex was built over the railway lines.
Old Brompton Road
Old Brompton Road is a major street in the South Kensington district of The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, London. It starts from South Kensington tube station and runs south-west, through a mainly residential area, until it reaches West Brompton and the area around Earl's Court tube station. It runs through the SW5 and SW7 postcodes. There are several 5-star hotels and upmarket shops along the road.
Cromwell Hospital
The Bupa Cromwell Hospital is a private sector hospital located in the South Kensington area of London. The hospital was founded on 29 April 1981. The Cromwell Hospital has at various times been owned by the Bank of Credit & Commerce International and the Abu Dhabi royal family. The footballer George Best spent his final days in Cromwell Hospital, where he was repeatedly treated for his medical problems.

Effie Bancroft
Marie Effie Wilton, Lady Bancroft (1839–1921) was an English actress and theatre manager. She appeared onstage as Marie Wilton until after her marriage in December 1867 to Squire Bancroft, when she usually appeared under the name Lady Bancroft. Bancroft and her husband were important in the developmant of Victorian era theatre through their presentation of innovative plays at the London theatres that they managed, first the Prince of Wales's Theatre and later the Haymarket Theatre.
Gustav Wilhelm Wolff
Gustav Wilhelm Wolff (14 November 1834 – 17 April 1913) was a German-British shipbuilder and politician. Born in Hamburg, he moved to Liverpool in 1849 to live with his uncle, Gustav Christian Schwabe. After serving his apprenticeship in Manchester, Wolff was employed as a draughtsman in Hyde, Greater Manchester, before being employed by the shipbuilder Edward Harland in Belfast as his personal assistant. In 1861, Wolff became a partner at Harland's firm, forming Harland and Wolff.
Coleherne public house
The Coleherne public house was a gay pub in west London. Located at 261 Old Brompton Road, Earls Court, it was a popular landmark Leather bar during the 1970s and 1980s. The Coleherne pub (named after Coleherne Road) began life in 1866, at Old Brompton Road in the heart of the west London Bohemian Quarter. It had a long history of attracting a bohemian clientele before becoming known as a gay pub.

Walham Green is an area located on the border of Fulham and Chelsea, south-west London, United Kingdom. To the south is Parsons Green, south-west Fulham, north West Kensington, north-east West Brompton, east Chelsea and south-east is Sands End. Within the area is the stadium of Stamford Bridge, home of Chelsea F.C.

The Troubadour, London
The Troubadour at 263-267 Old Brompton Road in Earls Court, established in 1954, is one of the last remaining coffee houses of its era in London, with a club room in the cellar famous as one of the primary venues of the British folk revival in the late 1950s and 1960s. The club was one of several London coffee house venues at which notable musicians played; other such venues included Les Cousins and Bunjies.
