Queen Mary, University of London
Queen Mary, University of London (informally Queen Mary, QMUL or QM) is a public research university located in London, United Kingdom and a constituent college of the federal University of London. With roots dating back to 1785, Queen Mary was formed by the merger of four historic colleges, and since joining the University of London in 1915 has grown to become one of its largest colleges.
Victoria Park, London
Victoria Park (known colloquially as Vicky Park or the People's Park) is 86.18 hectares of open space that stretches out across part of the East End of London, England bordering parts of Bethnal Green, Hackney, and Bow, such as along Old Ford Road, London E3 and Victoria Park Road E9. The park is entirely within the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. It is also used as a concert venue and hosts many festivals each year. The park is approximately a mile away from the London Olympic Park.
Hertford Union Canal
The Hertford Union Canal or Duckett's Canal is a short stretch (c. 1.5 km) of canal in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets in east London. It connects the Regent's Canal to the Lee Navigation. It was opened in 1830 but quickly proved to be a commercial failure. It was acquired by the Regents Canal Company in 1857, and became part of the Grand Union Canal in 1927.
Mile End Park
Mile End Park is a park located in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. It is a linear park of some 90 acres, and was created on industrial land devastated by World War II bombing. It lies on land to the east of the Regent's Canal and in the north, is separated from the southern edge of Victoria Park by the Hertford Union Canal. A plan existed from the end of the war to create the park, but extensive development did not begin until the end of the millennium.
St Clement's Hospital
St Clements Hospital was a Victorian mental health hospital in Mile End, in the East End of London. It closed in 2005.
A1205 road
The A1205 is a road in east London which runs north to south parallel to the Regent's Canal and connects South Hackney and Victoria Park with the A13 at Limehouse. It is approximately 2 miles (3 km) in length, and runs in a roughly SSW direction.
Old Ford railway station
Old Ford railway station was a former railway station in Old Ford, north of Bow, London. It was on the North London Railway between Victoria Park and Bow stations; the station was located on Old Ford Road, east of the junction with Lefevre Road (now Lefevre Walk). It opened in 1867 but was closed in 1944 after damage from the Blitz cut off the railway east of Dalston Junction.

Victoria Park railway station (opened as Victoria Park & Hackney Wick station) is a former railway station near Victoria Park, London. It was on the North London Railway between Homerton and Old Ford stations; the station was situated on the north-east corner of the Park, near Wick Road. It opened in 1856, six years after the opening of the track to the NLR's original terminus at Bow, and two years after the opening of a spur line linking it to the Eastern Counties Railway line at Stratford.

Parmiter's School
Parmiter's School is a co-educational school with academy status in Garston, Hertfordshire on the outskirts of North West London, England with a long history. Although the school admits pupils of all abilities it is partially selective (see below). It is currently the most oversubscribed school in Hertfordshire, and has often been recognised by the DfES for being one of the highest performing schools in the country by value added and score as a mixed ability school.
Franz Muller
Franz Müller (31 October 1840 – 14 November 1864), was a German tailor who hanged for the murder of Thomas Briggs, the first killing on a British train, although this may well have been a miscarriage of justice. The case caught the imagination of the public due to increasing safety fears about rail travel at the time, and the pursuit of Müller across the Atlantic Ocean to New York by Scotland Yard.
East Cross Route
East Cross Route (ECR) is a dual-carriageway road constructed in east London as part of the uncompleted Ringway 1 as part of the London Ringways plan drawn up the 1960s to create a series of high speed roads circling and radiating out from central London. The road was constructed between 1967 and 1973 and runs from Hackney Wick in north-east London, through the Blackwall Tunnel, to Kidbrooke in south-east London.
Lakeview Estate
Lakeview Estate is a housing estate in Bow, east London designed by Berthold Lubetkin. It was built on a site damaged by bombing in World War II, on Grove Road between Old Ford Road and the Hertford Union Canal. The estate opened in 1958. It overlooks the lake in Victoria Park.
Decima gallery
Decima Gallery is a London-based arts projects organisation with a reputation for irreverent projects, according to a 2008 article in The London Paper: ART for sex, gay claims for Jesus, pantomime cows – all standard fare for infamous London gallery Decima. The space, formerly in a Bermondsey back street, built up a rep in the late 90s for its headline-grabbing stunts.
Chatham (ward)
Chatham is a ward in the London Borough of Hackney and forms part of the Hackney South and Shoreditch constituency. The ward returns three councillors to Borough Council, with an election every four years. At the last local election on 6 May 2010, Luke Akehurst, Sally Mulready, and Guy Nicholson, all Labour Party candidates, were returned. Turnout was 54%; with 4,771 votes cast. In 2001, Chatham ward had a total population of 10,722.

The ward returns three councillors to Borough Council, with an election every four years. At the previous election on 6 May 2010, Katie Hanson, Daniel Kemp, and Geoff Taylor, all Labour Party candidates, were returned. Victoria ward has a total population of 12,065, the most populated ward in the borough.

Wick is a ward in the London Borough of Hackney that forms part of the Hackney South and Shoreditch constituency. It fully covers the area of Hackney Wick and includes the part of the 2012 Summer Olympics and Paralympics being built in the Borough. The ward returns three councillors to Borough Council, with an election every four years. At the previous local election on 6 May 2010 Anntoinette Bramble, Chris Kennedy, and Jessica Webb, all Labour Party candidates, were returned.
Coborn Road railway station
Coborn Road railway station was a station built by the Great Eastern Railway on the main line out of London from Liverpool Street. It was opened in 1865 to serve the surrounding Bow area. It was resited slightly to the west in 1882, and it was closed in 1946. Much of its former catchment area has been taken over by Bow Road on the District Line, Mile End on the District line and Central Line and the DLR's Bow Church.
Hackney Cut
The Hackney Cut is an artificial channel of the Lee Navigation built in England in 1769 by the River Lea Trustees to straighten and improve the Navigation. It begins at the Middlesex Filter Beds Weir, below Lea Bridge, and is situated in the (modern) London Borough of Hackney. When built it contained two pound locks and a half-lock, but was rebuilt to handle larger barges in the 1850s, and now only Old Ford Lock, which is actually a duplicated pair, remains.

It was opened on 20 October 2007, with its opening show 'Magical Thinking'. Since then it has mainly been curated by artists Simon Reuben-White and Snoozie Hexagon.
Gainsborough Primary School
Gainsborough Primary School is situated in Hackney Wick in the London borough of Hackney and is the closest school to the new Olympic site for the London 2012 games. This former elementary school was opened in 1899 by the [London School Board] (its opening-year plaque is still proudly displayed as a carving on the frontage facing the road) when it was called Berkshire Road School - its name was changed after the Second World War to Gainsborough Primary School.
London Chest Hospital
The London Chest Hospital, located in Bethnal Green in London, adjacent to Victoria Park, is a hospital run by the Barts Health NHS Trust. It was founded in 1848, and first opened in 1855. On 1 April 2010, LCH Radio broadcast its first shows to the hospital's patients. LCH Radio is one of only a few hospital radio stations to broadcast on an FM bandwidth, the first being Radio Lonsdale at Furness General Hospital in Barrow-in-Furness.

Fish Island, London
Fish Island is home to one of Europe's largest growing creative communities, with a vast selection of individual people - including Film Makers, Sculptures, Musicians, Actors, Dancers, Fashion Designers, Artists, Photographers, Graphic Designers, Radio DJs, Writers, all living in converted warehouses and factories. Cranbrook Estate
The Cranbrook Estate is a housing estate in Bethnal Green, East London designed by Berthold Lubetkin. The site, which is east of Bonner Street and north of Roman Road, was called Cranbrook after the central street. "Terraced houses, workshops, and one large factory were replaced by a figure of eight called Mace Street, which echoed the diagonals of the street pattern to the north. " The first blocks were opened in 1963.
