Tower Hamlets Cemetery
Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park is a closed, historic cemetery located in the East End of London. The cemetery opened in 1841 and closed for burials in 1966. It is now a nature reserve, and other land has been added to the park, including "Scrapyard Meadow". It was originally named The City of London and Tower Hamlets Cemetery but was called Bow Cemetery by locals. Tower Hamlets Cemetery was formally consecrated by the Bishop of London previous to its being opened for the reception of bodies.
Mile End Park
Mile End Park is a park located in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. It is a linear park of some 90 acres, and was created on industrial land devastated by World War II bombing. It lies on land to the east of the Regent's Canal and in the north, is separated from the southern edge of Victoria Park by the Hertford Union Canal. A plan existed from the end of the war to create the park, but extensive development did not begin until the end of the millennium.
St Clement's Hospital
St Clements Hospital was a Victorian mental health hospital in Mile End, in the East End of London. It closed in 2005.
Bow Road railway station
Bow Road railway station was in Bow, London on the opposite side of Bow Road from Bow Road tube station. It was opened on the south side of Bow Road in 1876 by the Great Eastern Railway, between Stratford station and the now closed Burdett Road station. It was resited in 1892 to the north side of Bow Road, It closed on 7 November 1949. The station building and platforms remain on the east side of the railway viaduct in Bow Road.
Mile End Stadium
Mile End Stadium, also known as the East London Stadium, is a multi-sports stadium situated in Mile End Park, east London, England. The stadium comprises an athletics stadium and a number of floodlit Astroturf football pitches and basketball courts. Many of the facilities are being refurbished at the moment. The new sports complex with a 25m swimming pool has been refurbished.

Under the Whyte notation for the classification of steam locomotives, 2-2-0 represents the wheel arrangement of two leading wheels on one axle, two powered driving wheels on one axle, and no trailing wheels. This configuration, which became very popular during the 1830s, was commonly called the Planet type after the first locomotive, Robert Stephenson's Planet of 1830.
Bow Quarter
The Bow Quarter is a gated community in Bow in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. The building was originally the Bryant and May match factory, and was the site of the Match Girls' strike in the 1880s. The factory was redeveloped in the 1980s, in one of east London's first urban renewal projects.
Tower division
The Tower Division was a liberty, a historical form of local government, in the ancient county of Middlesex, England. It was also known as the Tower Hamlets, and took its name from being under the special jurisdiction of the Constable of the Tower of London. The name "Tower Hamlets" was subsequently used for the London Borough of Tower Hamlets created in 1965. The Tower Division was one of four divisions of the Hundred of Ossulstone.
Bow railway station
Bow railway station was a railway station in Bow, London on the North London Railway, between Old Ford and South Bromley. It was situated on the north side of Bow Road, very close to Bow Road railway station, which is now also closed. The original station opened in 1850 but was replaced by a much grander station in 1870, which incorporated a concert hall, 100 feet long and 40 feet wide.
Old Ford railway station
Old Ford railway station was a former railway station in Old Ford, north of Bow, London. It was on the North London Railway between Victoria Park and Bow stations; the station was located on Old Ford Road, east of the junction with Lefevre Road (now Lefevre Walk). It opened in 1867 but was closed in 1944 after damage from the Blitz cut off the railway east of Dalston Junction.
William Bridges Adams
William Bridges Adams (1797 – 23 July 1872) was an author, inventor and locomotive engineer. He is best known for his patented Adams Axle — a successful radial axle design in use on railways in Britain until the end of steam traction in 1968 — and the railway fishplate. His writings, including English Pleasure Carriages (1837) and Roads and Rails (1862) covered all forms of land transport.
Burdett Road railway station
Burdett Road railway station was a railway station on Burdett Road, Mile End, London. It was located on the London and Blackwall Extension Railway which linked the London and Blackwall Railway (L&BR) from Fenchurch Street at Stepney with the Eastern Counties Railway (ECR) and London, Tilbury and Southend Railway at Bow. It was jointly owned by the L&BR and ECR, and opened on 11 September 1871.
Devons Road
Devons Road is a road in the East End of London. Part of the B140 road, it gives its name to the Devons Road DLR station.
Lakeview Estate
Lakeview Estate is a housing estate in Bow, east London designed by Berthold Lubetkin. It was built on a site damaged by bombing in World War II, on Grove Road between Old Ford Road and the Hertford Union Canal. The estate opened in 1958. It overlooks the lake in Victoria Park.
Ragged School Museum
The Ragged School Museum is a museum in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. The museum was opened in 1990, in the premises of the former Dr Barnardo's Copperfield Road Ragged School. The school opened in 1877 to serve the children of Mile End with a basic education. It closed in 1908, when the London School Boards were sufficiently established to take over the work. The museum is housed in three canal side warehouses at 46-50 Copperfield Road.
Bow Road
Bow Road is a thoroughfare in Bow, Tower Hamlets, London, England. The road forms part of the A11, running from Aldgate to Norwich in Norfolk. To the west the road becomes Mile End Road, and to the east at the Bow Interchange roundabout, there is a junction with the A12. The College of Technology London is located on the road, as is Bow Church, and the Lea Valley Walk passes it near to Three Mills.
Coborn Road railway station
Coborn Road railway station was a station built by the Great Eastern Railway on the main line out of London from Liverpool Street. It was opened in 1865 to serve the surrounding Bow area. It was resited slightly to the west in 1882, and it was closed in 1946. Much of its former catchment area has been taken over by Bow Road on the District Line, Mile End on the District line and Central Line and the DLR's Bow Church.

Matt's Gallery
Matt's Gallery is a contemporary art space situated on Copperfield Road in Bow, east London. Director, Robin Klassnik, opened the gallery in his studio in 1979 on Martello Street, before moving premises to Bow in 1993. The gallery is named after Klassnik’s dog, Matt E. Mulsion.
