Lesnes Abbey
Lesnes Abbey /ˈlɛsnɨs/ is a former abbey, now ruined, in Abbey Wood, in the London Borough of Bexley. It is a scheduled ancient monument and the adjacent Lesnes Abbey Woods are a Local Nature Reserve. Part of the wood is the Abbey Wood SSSI, a geological Site of Special Scientific Interest which is an important site for early Tertiary fossils.
Southern Outfall Sewer
The Southern Outfall Sewer is a major sewer taking sewage from the southern area of central London to Crossness in south-east London. Flows from three interceptory sewers combine at Deptford and then run under Greenwich, Woolwich, Plumstead and across Erith marshes. The Outfall Sewer was designed by Joseph Bazalgette after an outbreak of cholera in 1853 and "The Big Stink" of 1858.
Crossness
Crossness is a place in south-east London. It is situated in the London Borough of Bexley, close to the southern bank of the River Thames, to the east of Thamesmead, west of Belvedere and north-west of Erith. The place takes its name from Cross Ness, a specific promontory on the southern bank of the River Thames. In maritime terms, the tip of Cross Ness, in the past referred to as 'Leather Bottle Point', marks the boundary between Barking Reach and Halfway Reach.
Bexleyheath and Crayford (UK Parliament constituency)
Bexleyheath and Crayford is a borough constituency represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. It elects one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system of election. It was created in 1997 from parts of the former seats of Bexleyheath and Erith & Crayford.

Beam Reach
Beam Reach is a redevelopment area in London, England and part of the London Riverside section of the Thames Gateway. It is located in the southern part of the London Borough of Havering, next to the River Thames and the River Beam. The London Development Agency owns the land in the area and promotes it for intensification of manufacturing companies, to complement the nearby commercial and residential redevelopment areas.
Municipal Borough of Erith
Erith was a local government district in north west Kent from 1894 to 1965 around the town of Erith. It also included the generally suburban areas of Northumberland Heath, Belvedere, and parts of Barnehurst, Bexleyheath, Crayford and the SE2 London Postal District of Abbey Wood. It was created an urban district by the Local Government Act 1894.
Crossness Pumping Station
Crossness Pumping Station was a sewage pumping station designed by engineer Sir Joseph Bazalgette and architect Charles Henry Driver. It was constructed between 1859 and 1865 as part of his redevelopment of the London sewerage system. It is located at Crossness, southeast London, England, at the eastern end of the Southern Outfall Sewer. The sewage was pumped up into a 27-million-imperial-gallon reservoir, and was released into the Thames during the ebbing tide.

Belvedere Incinerator
The Riverside Resource Recovery (RRR) Energy from Waste Facility (known locally as the Belvedere Incinerator) is an incineration facility in Bexley managing waste from the Western Riverside Waste Authority and other local authorities in London with a capacity of 575,000 tonnes waste per annum. It is close to the site of the former oil-fired Belvedere Power Station, which was decommissioned in the 1980s; this is now the 60-acre Isis Reach industrial park.

The Diver
The Diver is a sculpture by John Kaufman located in the River Thames at Rainham, east London and is the only sculpture standing in the River Thames. The Diver is made of galvanised steel bands on a steel frame and is 15 feet tall and approximately 6 feet wide and is partly submerged every high tide and totally submerged by spring and neap tides. The diver is constructed from (approx. ) 300m of galvanised steel banding and 3000 nuts and bolts and weighs 3 tons.
Frog Island, London
Frog Island is an island on the River Thames at Rainham, London at grid reference TQ515805. It is the location of the mechanical biological treatment works of the East London Waste Authority. The facility turns 50% of processed waste into refuse-derived fuel, and recovers metals and glass. Now the are is a depression at only 2m AOD formerly a small island at the mouth of the River Ingrebourne, that rises in Essex as the Weald Brook. Phoenix Wharf on the island has safeguarded wharf status.

Business Academy Bexley
The Business Academy Bexley is a school for ages 3–19 in South Thamesmead, the London Borough of Bexley, England, operating under the Academy programme for schools which are independently run but receive public funding. The secondary school opened in 2002, and relocated to dedicated premises in September 2003, while the primary school section opened in 2004. As of 2007 the total enrollment was 1,477. The school was constructed on a 33-acre site at a cost of £31m.
Erith Marshes
Erith Marshes is an area of grazing marsh beside the south bank of River Thames in London, England. It is located next to the Crossness Sewage Treatment Works and is owned by Thames Water. It is a Site of Metropolitan Importance for Nature Conservation in the London Borough of Bexley. It can be accessed by London Buses routes 177, 180, 229, 401 and 472. The bulk of the marshes which once existed from Woolwich to Erith have now been built upon.

Hornchurch Marshes

It includes the eastern part of the Ford Dagenham estate and turbine 2 of the Dagenham wind turbines. The land has been contaminated from landfill and industrial use. It is now an area of regeneration called Beam Reach and is the location of the Centre for Engineering and Manufacturing Excellence.
Lesnes Abbey Woods
Lesnes Abbey Woods, sometimes known as Abbey Wood, is an area of ancient woodland in southeast London, England. It is located near to, and named after, the ruined Lesnes Abbey in the London Borough of Bexley and gives its name to the Abbey Wood district. The woods are adjacent to Bostall Woods. The woods have several features dating back to the Bronze Age and a fine display of wild bluebells and daffodils in the Spring.
Abbey Wood SSSI
Abbey Wood is a 6.3 hectare geological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Abbey Wood in the London Borough of Bexley. It is located in Lesnes Abbey Woods south-east of the ruins of Lesnes Abbey. Members of the public can dig for fossils in a small area designated as the Fossil Bed with the permission of the Lesnes Abbey ranger. The site is late Palaeocene and early Eocene 50 to 60 million years ago.
