Port of London
The Port of London lies along the banks of the River Thames from London, England to the North Sea. Once the largest port in the world, it is currently the United Kingdom's second largest port, after Grimsby & Immingham. The port is governed by the Port of London Authority (PLA), a public trust established in 1908, whose responsibility extends over the Tideway of the River Thames.
Woolwich foot tunnel
The Woolwich foot tunnel is a tunnel crossing under the River Thames in East London from Woolwich in the Royal Borough of Greenwich to North Woolwich in the London Borough of Newham. The tunnel offers pedestrians an alternative way to cross the river when the Woolwich Free Ferry service is not operating. Both entrances to the tunnel are Grade II listed buildings. Greenwich Council started work to upgrade both this tunnel and the Greenwich foot tunnel on 19 April 2010.
Royal Docks
The Royal Docks comprise three docks in east London - the Royal Albert Dock, the Royal Victoria Dock and the King George V Dock. They are more correctly called the Royal Group of Docks to distinguish them from the Royal Dockyards, Royal being due to their naming after royal personages rather than Crown ownership. The three docks collectively formed the largest enclosed docks in the world, with a water area of nearly 250 acres and an overall estate of 1,100 acres .

The University of East London (UEL) is a public university located in the London Borough of Newham, east London, England. It is based at two campuses in Stratford and Docklands areas, with a third campus, University Square, due to open in Stratford in 2013. The university can trace its roots back to 1892, gaining university status in 1992. The University of East London has more than 28,000 students from 120 countries worldwide.
Greenway, London
The Greenway is a footpath and cycleway in east London constructed on the embankment containing the Northern Outfall Sewer. The path runs from Wick Lane in Bow through Stratford, Plaistow and Newham to Royal Docks Road in Beckton. It was known locally as sewerbank before a full renovation in the mid-nineties. Work has taken place to resurface and renovate the route - especially around the Olympic Park.
North Woolwich Old Station Museum
The North Woolwich Old Station Museum was a small railway museum in Newham, east London. It was housed in what was the original Great Eastern Railway terminal station building at North Woolwich railway station. The building was in use as a ticket office until 1979 when it was replaced by a more austere building on the one remaining platform. It was derelict for many years until its opening as a museum in 1984.

Brampton Manor Academy is a secondary school and sixth form with academy status situated in East Ham, east London. It has around 1600 students and over 100 staff. Brampton Manor is the second biggest school in Newham. It was awarded specialist status as an Arts College. The school's current headteacher is Dr Olukoshi. His predecessor was Neil Berry, son of the late one time Manchester United footballer Johnny Berry.
Beckton railway station
Beckton railway station was a railway station in Beckton, London originally owned by the Gas Light and Coke Company, to serve the recently-built Beckton Gas Works. The line was opened for freight in 1872 and to passengers in 1873. It was leased to the Great Eastern Railway from 1874.

Central railway station was near the Royal Albert Dock and Beckton Park in London, on the Eastern Counties and Thames Junction Railway between Connaught Road and Manor Way on the Gallions branch. It opened on August 3, 1880, The station had few passenger services, which ceased in 1940 after wartime bombing, and the goods line closed with the closure of the Royal Docks.
Manor Way railway station
Manor Way railway station was a railway station located on the East Ham Manor Way, south of Beckton in east London, on the Eastern Counties and Thames Junction Railway (EC&TJR). It opened in November 1880, between Central and Gallions stations, on the Gallions branch of the line. Manor Way was sparingly used by passenger services, which ceased in 1940 after wartime bombing, and the goods line closed with the closure of the Royal Docks.
Beckton Gas Works
Beckton Gasworks was a major London gasworks built to manufacture coal gas and other products including coke from coal. It has been variously described as 'the largest such plant in the world' and 'the largest gas works in Europe'. It operated from 1870 to 1969, with an associated by-products works that operated from 1879 to 1970. The works were located on East Ham Level, on the north bank of the Thames at Gallions Reach, to the west of Barking Creek.
Royal Docks Heritage Railway
The Royal Docks Heritage Railway, endorsed in 2006 by Newham London Borough Council, was proposed to open during 2007, taking over the North Woolwich Old Station Museum and the closed section of the North London Line between Custom House and North Woolwich railway stations. Rather than concentrating on the Great Eastern Railway, it would have shown the heritage of local and suburban National Rail lines in London and the south east.
London Regatta Centre
The London Regatta Centre is a rowing centre located in the heart of the Docklands area in the East End of London. It is built at the west end on the north of the historic Royal Albert Dock directly opposite London City Airport. The site is owned by the Royal Albert Dock Trust, and is home to the Royal Docks Rowing Club, Raging Dragons Dragon Boat Club, Thames Dragons, and Typhoon DBC.
Newham College of Further Education
Newham College of Further Education is a college of further education in the London Borough of Newham, United Kingdom. The main site is in East Ham, with a further site in Stratford, and six further local neighbourhood learning centres. Two main campuses, East Ham Campus, High Street South, London E6 6ER and Stratford Campus, Welfare Road, London E15 4HT.
Docklands Light Railway extension to Dagenham Dock
The Docklands Light Railway extension to Dagenham Dock is a proposed, and as yet unfunded, extension of the Docklands Light Railway to Dagenham Dock in east London. It was anticipated that the project could be completed and open for use by 2017. However the public inquiry has been postponed due to concerns about funding. The proposed extension forms part of the planned transport infrastructure of the London Riverside section of the Thames Gateway redevelopment project.
Beckton DLR depot
Beckton Traincare Depot is the primary railway maintenance depot for the Docklands Light Railway. Before its construction, Poplar DLR depot was the primary maintenace depot. But construction of the DLR Beckton extension required more maintenance facilities, and Beckton provided more space in which to both construct larger facilities and provided easier road access for rolling stock delivery. Built on the site of the former Beckton Gas Works, there are servicing and stabling facilities.
University of East London School of Law and Social Sciences
The School of Law and Social Sciences is one of eight academic schools at the University of East London in East London, England. The School is home to the Centre on Human Rights in Conflict. The School of Law teaches six undergraduate courses and ten postgraduate courses. The School is attended by over 1,000 students.

Raging Dragons is a Dragon Boat club based in London, UK. The club trains on the Royal Albert Dock at the London Regatta Centre. The club was formed in 2002 as a charity crew called Chinese Professionals, and later Dragonflies. The club was originally based at the Docklands Sailing and Watersports Centre in Millwall dock.
Beckton District Park North
Beckton District Park North is a public park in Beckton in the London Borough of Newham. It has undulating grassland with scattered trees, areas of natural woodland, a lake with a large island, a children's playground, a basketball court, toilets and a car park. Beckton District Park and Newham City Farm are a Site of Borough Importance for Nature Conservation, Grade I. The Capital Ring goes through the park.

Beckton District Park South is a public park in Beckton in the London Borough of Newham. Beckton District Park and Newham City Farm are a Site of Borough Importance for Nature Conservation, Grade II. It has two parts, separated by the Will Thorne Pavilion and a car park. The south-eastern part is a large grassed area with football pitches, a children's playground and a small pond. North-west is a hilly area managed for nature conservation with a wildflower meadow and woods.
