River Beck
The River Beck is one of the tributaries of the River Ravensbourne in south London. The source of the River Beck is in Spring Park where Shirley and West Wickham meet. For its first mile or so it forms the border between the London boroughs of Croydon and Bromley. Indeed, historically, this was also the border between Surrey and Kent. It gives its name to Beck Lane, Elmers End and Beck Way, Beckenham. The Beck flows into Cator Park, where it is joined by the Chaffinch Brook.

Fieldway (ward)
Fieldway is a ward in the London Borough of Croydon, covering part of the New Addington estate in London in the United Kingdom. The ward currently forms part of the Croydon Central constituency. The ward returns two councillors every four years to Croydon Council. At the London local elections 2006 Simon Hall and Carole Bonner were elected to the council. They stood as Labour candidates, winning with a small margin over the British National Party.
Death of Tia Sharp
Tia Sharp was a 12-year-old English schoolgirl who was reported missing from the home of her grandmother, Christine Sharp, in New Addington, on 3 August 2012. When police discovered her body in the loft of the house seven days later, they arrested Christine Sharp and Stuart Hazell on suspicion of murder. Hazell is Christine Sharp's partner and the former boyfriend of Tia's mother, Natalie. Hazell was charged with Tia's murder the following day. Christine Sharp was released on bail.
