Knowlton, Dorset
Knowlton is a small area in Dorset, England, UK. Its most recognizable features are a ruined Norman church, built within a neolithic henge monument. This site is maintained by English Heritage. The henge enclosing Knowlton Church is only one of three henges and associated earthworks. However, Church Henge is the best preserved. Nearby is Great Barrow, the largest round barrow in Dorset. Aerial photographs reveal a large number of ploughed-out barrows in the immediate vicinity.

This is the ancestral home and centre of business of the Ashley-Coopers, also known as the Earls of Shaftesbury, who are a conservative, aristocratic family that owns a large estate, including over 5,500 acres, along with property, land, and loughs, that establishes them as one of the wealthiest families in the United Kingdom.

Cranborne Priory was a priory in Cranborne in Dorset, England. The monastery of Cranborne is said to have been founded as an abbey for Benedictine monks about the year 980. The chronicle of Tewkesbury states that it was founded around that time by a knight known by the name of Haylward Snew, and made it the parent house of Tewkesbury.
Horton Priory
Horton Priory was a priory at Horton in Dorset, England. It was founded as a Benedictine abbey around 970 by Ordgar, Earl of Devon, or his son, Ordulph, and dedicated to Olfrida, the mother of Saint Edith of Wilton by King Edgar the Peaceful. In the early twelfth century it was reduced to priory status by Roger, bishop of Salisbury and made dependent on Sherborne Abbey.

It was remodelled for the 1st Earl of Salisbury in the early 17th century.
