Pirton, Hertfordshire

Pirton is a small village and civil parish three miles north-west of Hitchin in Hertfordshire, England. The church, rebuilt in 1877, but with the remains of its 12th-century tower, is built within the bailey of a former castle. Pirton Grange, which was remodelled in the 18th century, is in the north of the parish, and is a particularly interesting, moated Elizabethan house with a timber framed gatehouse. Hammonds Farm and Rectory Farm, with its tithe barn, are also Elizabethan.

Beadlow Priory

Beadlow Priory was a monastic foundation established between 1140 and 1146 by Robert D'Albini for a community of Benedictine monks. Around 1140 the lands of Beadlow Manor were granted to the priory at Millbrook in Hertfordshire, from where the community were moved upon the establishment of the new priory at Beadlow, Bedfordshire, England about 10 km south of Bedford. Initially referred to as Beaulieu Priory, it remained cell of the Abbey at St Albans.

Barton Hills, Bedfordshire

Barton Hills are situated southeast of the village of Barton-le-Clay in the English county of Bedfordshire. They are part of the Chilterns and hiking routes are marked on maps at the entrance to the hills. From the foot of the hillside, a spring (Barton Springs) marks the start of a chalk stream river. During the summer, Dartmoor ponies roam the hills.

St Mary's Church, Lower Gravenhurst, is a redundant Anglican church in the village of Lower Gravenhurst, Bedfordshire, England. It has been designated by English Heritage as a Grade I listed building, and is under the care of the Churches Conservation Trust. Lower Gravenhurst is some 10 miles southeast of Bedford, to the east of the A6 road. The church is surrounded by fields and stands on a small hill.
