RAF Alconbury

Royal Air Force Station Alconbury or RAF Alconbury is an active Royal Air Force station located in Cambridgeshire, England. The airfield is adjacent to the Stukeleys [Great and Little], Alconbury and about 5 miles northwest of Huntingdon; about 60 miles north of London. Opened in 1938, it is currently a non-flying facility under the control of the United States Air Force. It is one of three RAF stations in Cambridgeshire currently used by the United States Air Forces in Europe.

Spittals Interchange is the name of the roundabout on the junction between the A14 and A141 north of Huntingdon, England. The junction is unusual in that three arms of this four-way junction are numbered A14. The "extra" A14 route exits to the north and is a four mile spur that joins the northbound A1. The north-east A14 passes under the roundabout, but the west-east A14 traffic, which is the majority, has to enter the roundabout.

Magic Mountain (bunker)

Magic Mountain is the name of a bunker at RAF Alconbury that was in use from 1989-1991. At the time it was built, it was designed to withstand a direct nuclear attack. It was built to ensure that the 17th Reconnaissance Wing would always have a command post for its TR-1A aircraft. It was built with its own power plant, communications facilities, air supply, and decontamination facility. During its operation, it was officially known as Building 210.
