Taplow railway station
Taplow railway station is a railway station in Taplow, Buckinghamshire, England. The station is served by local services operated by First Great Western (FGW) from Paddington, 22⁄2 miles (36 km) to the east, to Reading stations, using class 165, and class 166 DMU trains. The station is on the original line of the Great Western Railway (GWR).
Boulter's Lock
Boulter's Lock is a lock and weir on the River Thames in England on the eastern side of Maidenhead, Berkshire. A lock was first built here by the Thames Navigation Commission in 1772. The lock is on the western side of the river between the main (A4094) Maidenhead to Cookham road and Ray Mill Island. The name is also used for the immediate surrounding area. The weir is some way upstream of the lock, at the northern end of Ray Mill Island.
Taplow Court
Taplow Court is a large Victorian house in the village of Taplow in Buckinghamshire, England. The Taplow burial, a 7th century Anglo-Saxon burial mound, is in the grounds of the house, near the church.. This was excavated in 1883 and a number of treasures were discovered, unrivalled until the discovery of Sutton Hoo in 1939. There has been a manor house on the site since before the Norman Conquest in 1066.

Ray Mill Island
Ray Mill Island is an island in the River Thames in England at Boulter's Lock near Maidenhead, Berkshire. The island is now a park administered by the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead. It is named after the Ray family who once had a flour mill here. The mill was constructed in 1726 on the site of a previous mill, and continued to produce flour until the 1920s. Boulter's weir runs from the top end of the island across to the Taplow bank.

Bavin's Gulls or Sloe Grove Islands are a group of islands in the River Thames in England on the reach known as Cliveden Deep above Boulter's Lock, near Maidenhead, Berkshire. This reach of the Thames was described by Jerome K. Jerome in Three Men in a Boat as "unbroken loveliness this is, perhaps, the sweetest stretch of all the river...". Bavin's Gulls consists of two large and two small thin wooded strips; they are part of the Cliveden Estate and are owned by the National Trust.

Boulter's Island is an island in the River Thames at Boulter's Lock, near Maidenhead, Berkshire. Boulter's Island is accessible by motor vehicle across Boulter's Bridge across the tail of Boulter's Lock. The island has a number of private houses, a restaurant and a small boatyard with a slipway. Ray Mill Island lies alongside to the east separated from Boulter's Island by the Ray Mill Stream. Richard Dimbleby, the BBC broadcaster lived for many years in a house on Boulter's Island.
Glen Island (Thames)
Glen Island is a large area of land between the head of the Jubilee River and the River Thames at Boulter's Lock near Maidenhead. The Grade II listed Glen Island House, a riverside Gentleman's residence (now offices for a paper mill), was built in 1869 for Lt. Gen. Sir Roger William Henry Palmer, Bart. (d.1910), an Irish landowner, who was in the Charge of the Light Brigade.

Taplow Lake is a 30-acre lake just south of the A4 between Maidenhead and Slough in Amerden Lane, Buckinghamshire. Recreational activities on the lake include swimming, wakeboarding and waterskiing.
Taplow burial
The Taplow burial is a 7th century Anglo-Saxon burial mound, situated in the churchyard of Taplow Court, Buckinghamshire. The burial dates to ca. AD 620, roughly contemporary with the Sutton Hoo burial. The barrow is situated on a hill overlooking the Thames Valley. The name Taplow itself is in origin that of the burial mound, from Old English Tæppas hláw "Tæppa's mound", so that the name of the unknown chief or nobleman buried in the mound would seem to have been Tæppa.
Skindles
Skindles was a hotel in Maidenhead, England, on the Buckinghamshire bank of the River Thames by Maidenhead Bridge. It was formerly the Orkney Arms, built in 1743, but was turned from a coaching inn into a fashionable hotel by William Skindle in 1833. In the 20th century, it became notorious as a place for adulterous assignations. Its guests included Winston Churchill and Princess Margaret while musicians who performed there included the Rolling Stones and The Strawbs.
