Chivery is a hamlet located in the Chiltern Hills in the present day parish of Aston Clinton, in Aylesbury Vale District in the county of Buckinghamshire, England. Chivery's southern boundary is formed by the ancient earthworks known as Grim's Ditch. To the north it is bounded by Wendover Woods. Historically Chivery was part of the manor of Aston Clinton.
Hyde End is a small hamlet, in the civil parish of Great Missenden. it is located between the hamlets of Hyde Heath and South Heath along the B485 road between Chesham and Great Missenden, in the Chiltern Hills, Buckinghamshire. It comprises a small number of dwellings, including a row of early 1900s cottages, a row of 1930's cottages and larger houses and farm properties.
The River Misbourne rises in a field on the outskirts of Great Missenden, Buckinghamshire, and flows down the Misbourne valley to join the River Colne just north of where the latter is crossed by the A40 Western Avenue. It passes through Little Missenden, Old Amersham, Chalfont St Giles and Chalfont St Peter, and under the Chiltern railway line and the M25 on its way down the valley.
Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre
The Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre is in the village of Great Missenden in Buckinghamshire, England, which was the home of the children's and short story writer Roald Dahl for 36 years until his death in 1990. The museum was officially opened on 10 June 2005 by Cherie Blair and open to the public on 11 June 2005. It is housed in an old coaching inn and yard, which has been converted into a museum at a cost of £4.5 million.
Haddington Hill (also called Wendover Hill) is a hill in The Chilterns, and the highest point in the English county of Buckinghamshire. On the north-eastern flank is Coombe Hill, not to be confused with another Coombe Hill 4 kilometres to the south-west. Haddington Hill is owned by the Forestry Commission, whose Wendover Woods cover much of the hill.
Pavis Wood is an area of woodland on a hill located near Hastoe in Tring, north-western Hertfordshire,England. A point on its eastern slopes is the highest point in the county of Hertfordshire at 244 m (801 ft). The area is often considered as ancient woodland containing a wide variety of plants such as the Yellow Pimpernel and Wood Mellick.
Great Missenden railway station
Great Missenden railway station serves the village of Great Missenden in Buckinghamshire, England and the neighbouring villages of Prestwood, Little Hampden and Little Missenden. The station lies on the London Marylebone - Aylesbury line and is served by Chiltern Railways trains. It is between Amersham and Wendover stations. Both station platforms have step-free access.
Wendover Woods is an area of woodland on the north edge of the Chiltern Hills in England. Named after the nearby town of Wendover, the woods are owned by the Forestry Commission. Covering 325 ha, the woods are a mixture of coniferous and broadleaved trees. There are several signed walks for recreation, as well as bridleways, picnic and barbecue areas and a children's playground. A Go Ape treetop adventure course opened in 2008.
