Amersham
Amersham is a market town and civil parish within Chiltern district in Buckinghamshire, England, 27 miles north west of London, in the Chiltern Hills. It is part of the London commuter belt. Amersham is split into two distinct areas: Old Amersham, set in the valley of the River Misbourne, which contains the 13th century parish church of St. Mary's and several old pubs and coaching inns; and Amersham-on-the-Hill, which grew rapidly around the railway station in the early part of the 20th century.
Amersham Rural District
Amersham was a rural district in the administrative county of Buckinghamshire, England from 1894 to 1974. The rural district took over the responsibilities of the disbanded Amersham Rural Sanitary District. It entirely surrounded but did not include Chesham. Chesham and Amersham rural districts were merged to form the Chiltern District under the Local Government Act 1972.

Ruth Ellis (9 October 1926 - 13 July 1955) was the last woman to be executed in the United Kingdom, after being convicted of the murder of her lover, David Blakely. From a humble background, Ellis was soon drawn into the world of London nightclub hostessing, which led to a chaotic life of brief relationships, some of them with upper-class nightclubbers and celebrities.
Amersham Hall
Amersham Hall was a "school for the sons of dignified gentlemen" in England. From 1829 to 1861 it was located in Elmodesham House in Amersham, Buckinghamshire, relocating in 1861 to Oxfordshire. The site in Caversham, a suburb in the north of Reading, is now Queen Anne's School. The Reverend Ebenezer West, principal of Amersham Hall, funded most of the construction of the West Memorial Hall in Caversham, as well as the Caversham Baptist Free Church a decade later.
Amersham Museum
Amersham Museum is a small local museum based in Amersham, Buckinghamshire, England. It is located on the High Street in Old Amersham. The museum is located in a 15th century half-timbered house, with a herb garden to the rear, and covers local history. It has collections of fossils and archaeological finds, including objects from Roman and mediaeval times, and displays on local crafts including chairmaking, lace making and straw plait. It originally opened to the public in 1991.
The Water Tower, Coleshill
The Water Tower is a water tower located in Coleshill, Buckinghamshire. It was built by German prisoners of war during the First World War to provide a gravity fed water system for the nearby town of Amersham. The tower is 30 metres (100ft) high with an internal diameter of 5.4 metres (18ft). Its location on the summit of a hill makes the tower something of a local landmark and it is easily visible from the M40 motorway.

Amersham Hospital is located in Amersham, Buckinghamshire. It is one of three hospitals in the Buckinghamshire Hospitals NHS Trust, the other two being Stoke Mandeville Hospital and Wycombe General Hospital. All facilities are 'non-emergency', and include the Haleacre Unit, Buckinghamshire's central dermatology ward, various other out-patient facilities and care for older citizens. The Haleacre unit is a secure mental health unit.
St Mary's Church, Amersham
St Mary's Church is the parish church in the town of Amersham in Buckinghamshire, England. It is located in Old Amersham. The church dates from the 13th century with additions in the 14th century. It was also restored in 1890, and the external appearance dates from this time. There are many monuments in the church. The bells are still rung in the church tower.

The Quiet Garden Trust is a non-profit organisation which encourages the provision of Quiet Gardens where people can set aside time for contemplation, prayer and renewal. The opening of the gardens is controlled by the respective owners, and the Trust plays a co-ordinating and resourcing role. There are currently about three hundred Quiet Gardens in eighteen countries, and the idea has grown to encompass quiet spaces in churches, schools, hospitals and prisons.
