University of the West of England
The University of the West of England, also known as UWE Bristol, or simply UWE (pronounced "you-we") is a university based in the British city of Bristol. Its main campus is at Frenchay, about five miles (8 km) north of the city centre. UWE also has campuses at St Matthias and Glenside in north-east Bristol and Bower Ashton, near Ashton Court in south-west Bristol.
M32 motorway
The M32 is a motorway in South Gloucestershire and Bristol, England. It provides a link from Bristol city centre to the M4 and is part of the Bristol Parkway. At about 4.6 miles, it is one of Britain's shortest motorways. Most of the road has four lanes, though there is a climbing lane for 440 yards north of Junction 2, and the short section between Junction 1 and the M4 has six lanes.
Snuff Mills
Snuff Mills is a park in the Stapleton area of north Bristol, also known as Whitwood Mill. There are pleasant walks along the steep wooded banks of the River Frome, for example to Oldbury Court. The park was purchased in 1926 by the Corporation of Bristol as "a pleasure walk for citizens of Bristol" and restored in the 1980s by the Fishponds Local History Society. The park's name originates from one of the millers. His nickname was 'Snuffy Jack' because his smock was always covered in snuff.

The Defence Procurement Agency (DPA), was an Executive Agency of the United Kingdom Ministry of Defence responsible for the acquisition of materiel, equipment and services, for the British armed forces. Led by the Chief of Defence Procurement, the Agency sourced equipment and services from its headquarters in Bristol.
Eastville Stadium
Eastville Stadium, also known as Bristol Stadium and Bristol Stadium – Eastville, was a stadium in Eastville, a northern suburb of the English city of Bristol. Constructed in 1897, it was the home of Bristol Rovers F.C. , the Bristol Bulldogs speedway team and was also a greyhound racing venue. During 1986 it was also the home of the short-lived Bristol Bombers American football team.

Glenside Museum
Glenside Museum is situated within the Glenside Campus of the University of the West of England in Fishponds, Bristol, England. The museum was founded by Dr Donal F. Early; a consultant psychiatrist at Glenside from the 1950s. He collected items of memorabilia and started a collection on the balcony of the dining hall of Glenside. When the building closed, the collection was re-located to the Glenside Chapel, and the collection slowly was built up to the museum it is today.

Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) is the name of the merged procurement and support organisation within the UK Ministry of Defence. It came into being on 2 April 2007, bringing together the MoD's Defence Procurement Agency and the Defence Logistics Organisation under the leadership of General Sir Kevin O'Donoghue as the first Chief of Defence Materiel.

St George West (ward)
St George West is a district (Ward) of Bristol. Its councilors are Ron Stone and Peter Hammond (both Labour). It can be found in the outer east of the city of Bristol. According to a report released by Bristol City Council, St George West has an average crime rate. 8061 people are registered to vote in the ward. Of the 10,925 people that live in the ward, 10,253 were born in the United Kingdom. In addition to this four people were born in North Africa.
Lodge Causeway
Lodge Causeway is an ancient passage through the former Royal Forest of Kingswood and now the main road between Fishponds and Kingswood in Bristol, England. The road is designated the B4048. The Causeway led to Kingswood Lodge at the top of Lodge Hill, recorded in use since Saxon times when kings used the forest for hunting whilst resident at the palace at Pucklechurch, where King Edmund was murdered by an outlaw in 946.
Fishponds railway station
Fishponds railway station was a station in Fishponds, Bristol, England, a victim of Dr Beeching's cuts in the 1960s. Fishponds station was just south of where Morrisons supermarket car park is today. The railway line was built in 1835 for transport of coal from Coalpit Heath to industry in the centre of Bristol. The station, named Stapleton Halt, was opened on 1 April 1866, and was part of the Bristol to Birmingham line operated by the Midland Railway.
BCFM
BCFM or Bristol Community FM is a community radio station broadcasting to the City of Bristol in the United Kingdom on 93.2 FM. BCfm started broadcasting on 26 March 2007. This followed many years of community development and radio projects in Bristol, such as radio19 (the New Deal for Communities), Commonwealth fm and B200fm (Celebration of Brunel’s life).
George Petherbridge
George Ernest Petherbridge (19 May 1927 – 4 March 2013) was a professional footballer, who played for Bristol Rovers for seventeen years, between 1945 and 1962. He played as a winger for the club and made 457 appearances in the Football League, and 496 in all competitions, scoring 85 league and seven cup goals.
Bristol Law School
Bristol Law School (BLS), formerly known as the Faculty of Law, is a school at the University of the West of England. It is a member of the Faculty of Business and Law. Established in 1969 Bristol Law School has since grown into one of the largest law schools in England and Wales with nearly two thousand students enrolled (seventeen hundred full-time students). The School provides both academic and professional legal studies.
School of Humanities, Languages and Social Sciences (UWE)
The School of Humanities, Languages and Social Sciences was a member of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities at the University of the West of England, Bristol. The school was formed in 2003/4 by the merger of three small faculties, Humanities, Languages and Area Studies, and Economics and Social Sciences. The school was located at two campuses at Frenchay and St Matthias.
Barton Regis Rural District
Barton Regis was, from 1894 to 1904, a rural district in the administrative county of Gloucestershire, adjacent to the City of Bristol.
School of Education (UWE)
The School of Education at the University of the West of England is part of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities. Its origins lie in teacher training colleges at Redland and St Matthias which became part of the former Bristol Polytechnic in 1969. The dean of the school is Professor Ron Ritchie who is also an Assistant Vice-Chancellor of the University.
Horfield railway station
Horfield railway station was a railway station serving the northern part of Horfield and Lockleaze in the north of Bristol, England. It was located on the main line from Bristol to South Wales. It was served by stopping trains to Severn Beach, Avonmouth and Swindon.
Beaufort Hospital
Beaufort Hospital was a military hospital in Stapleton district of Bristol during World War I. Before the war, it was an asylum and after the war it became a psychiatric hospital. Built next to the co-located Stapleton Hospital mental health facility, the Bristol Lunatic Asylum was the city’s response to the 1845 Mental Asylum Health Act, which laid upon local authorities the statutory duty to provide treatment facilities for in-patients.
MoD Abbey Wood
MoD Abbey Wood is a purpose-built site in Filton, Bristol, United Kingdom, that houses the Defence Equipment and Support procurement organisation. The building project involved over 130,000 m² of buildings including offices, restaurants, library, sports facilities, training rooms, auditoria and conferences rooms, support facilities and a crèche together with landscaping and external works on a 98-acre site.
Greenbank Cricket Ground
Greenbank (also known as Packer's Ground) is a cricket ground in Bristol. The ground was initially owned by H.J. Packer and Co Ltd. The first first-class match on the ground was in 1922, when Gloucestershire played Sussex. Gloucestershire played first-class matches at the ground from 1922 to 1928, playing a total of 20 first-class matches there, the last of which saw them play Derbyshire in the 1928 County Championship.
Begbrook

Narroways Hill Junction
Narroways Hill Junction is a railway junction in Bristol, England. It is where the Severn Beach Line branches off from the Cross Country Route, and also where the old Midland Railway line to Mangotsfield left the Severn Beach Line. The junction was built in 1874 as part of the Clifton Extension Railway, a joint venture by the Midland Railway and Great Western Railway to connect the Bristol Port Railway and Pier to their main lines.
UWE Stadium
UWE Stadium is the provisional name for a proposed 21,700 all-seater stadium to be built in Frenchay, in the northern outskirts of Bristol, as a new home for League Two side Bristol Rovers. The stadium will replace their current home, the Memorial Stadium which will be sold to supermarket chain Sainsbury's. The sale of the Memorial Stadium will partially fund the project.
