Saltley railway station
Saltley railway station was a railway station in Birmingham, England, opened by the Midland Railway in 1854 and rebuilt in 1899. Consisting of an island platform, it was on the line into Birmingham New Street from Water Orton. It closed to all traffic in 1968.
HMS Forward (shore establishment 1984)
HMS Forward is a Royal Naval Reserve unit located in Birmingham, England, close to St. Andrews football stadium. It has a crew of nearly 100 naval and marine reservists, in addition to a handful of full-time staff. The Birmingham University Royal Naval Unit, the Defence Technical Undergraduate Scheme 'Taurus Squadron' and a detachment of the Royal Marine Reserves Merseyside are also located on the site. St Peter's College, Saltley
St Peter's College, Saltley was a school and teacher training establishment located in Saltley, Birmingham. Founded in 1852 in part with help from Charles Adderley, 1st Baron Norton as modern Saltley developed, the school closed in 1941 while the college closed in the 1980s. The building today is now sub-divided into a multi-use facility combining homes, offices and meeting rooms.
