Hawkesley
Hawkesley is an area of Birmingham, England. It is part of 'The Three Estates', the housing estates Hawkesley, Pool Farm, and Primrose. These are to the south of (and effectively sub-areas of) Kings Norton. The Ordnance Survey grid reference is SP0477. Wychall Reservoir
Wychall Reservoir, is a canal compensation reservoir in the Kings Norton district of Birmingham, England. It was built in the early 19th century by the Worcester Canal Company, after mill owners claimed that water was being taken from the River Rea to fill the canal, thereby reducing the working effectiveness of their mills. Now defunct as a reservoir it has been adopted by Birmingham City Council, along with the nearby Merecroft Pool, as a Local Nature Reserve.

Battle of Kings Norton
The battle of Kings Norton was fought on 17 October 1642. The Parliamentarians won the skirmish, which developed out of a chance encounter between Royalists under the command of Prince Rupert and Parliamentarians under the command of Lord Willoughby of Parham. Both forces had been on their way to join their respective armies which were destined to meet at Edgehill in the first pitched battle of the English Civil War, and after the skirmish both proceeded to join their respective armies.
