Olton Reservoir
Olton Mere, or Olton Reservoir, is a canal feeder reservoir in the Olton district of Solihull, West Midlands, England. The reservoir, constructed in 1799 to supply the Grand Union Canal, was formed from marshland fed by Folly Brook. It was designed to hold 150 locks full of water, but this was not achieved until it was extended in 1834. It is the largest of the few areas of open water in Solihull and supports a large number of waterfowl.
Alum Rock, Birmingham
Alum Rock (also known as "The Rock") is an inner-city suburb of Birmingham, England, located roughly 2 miles east of Birmingham city centre. The area is officially a division of Saltley. In the past, Alum Rock was largely known as a home to a large Irish immigrant population, but now contains a large Asian population mainly from Pakistan which also extends into nearby Small Heath and Sparkbrook. Asian-owned businesses are commonplace within the area, including many food stores and restaurants.
Lyndon, Solihull
Lyndon is a district within the Metropolitan Borough of Solihull in the English county of the West Midlands. The ancient monument of Hobs Moat is nearby, as is Hatchford Brook. The area is not generally called Lyndon, but amenities such as schools and pubs have Lyndon in their title. Lyndon ward elects its representatives on to Solihull Council three in every four years.

The Fox & Goose is a shopping district in Ward End, Birmingham, England, at the eastern end of Washwood Heath Road. It is named after the public house there. It also is the point where Ward End and Hodge Hill end and Stechford begins. The Fox & Goose provides an alternate shopping area from nearby Alum Rock and includes Beaufort Park opposite it, which is also a shopping area. Tesco Stores recently opened a new store in the area.

There are a few local shops, and there used to be a three-screen movie theatre, Capitol Cinema, there before it was closed down in 2001.
Stechford rail crash
The Stechford rail crash occurred on 28 February 1967 at Stechford railway station in the area of Stechford in Birmingham, England. A Class 24 diesel locomotive had arrived at Stechford sidings with a ballast train. This was due to return to Nuneaton and so the locomotive needed to be run round the train. There were too many wagons for the runaround loop to be used, so the Head Shunter decided to run the locomotive around via the main line.
Fox Hollies Hall
Fox Hollies Hall was a manor house situated in Acocks Green, Fox Hollies, Birmingham, England, belonging to the Walker family. The Hall itself was built as a mock-Italianate in 1869 to replace the nearby Hyron Hall, and was commissioned by a retired merchant, Zaccheus Walker III. His father, Zaccheus Walker II, was an industrialist who was almost killed in the French Revolution had it not have been for his friendship with Robespierre.
Olton railway station
Olton railway station serves the Olton area of Solihull, in the West Midlands of England. The station is operated by London Midland, and is also served by occasional Chiltern Railways services. Pre-1967 trains between London (Paddington) and Birkenhead (Woodside) on the former GWR main line passed non-stop through Olton station.

Every Monday the park asks for volunteers to help do things like general maintenance and weeding.
