Birmingham City University
Birmingham City University (abbrev. as BCU; and previously Birmingham Polytechnic and the University of Central England in Birmingham) is a post-1992 British university in the city of Birmingham, England. It is the second largest of three universities in the city, the other two being the Aston University and University of Birmingham.

Witton Lakes
Witton Lakes are a pair of former drinking water reservoirs between the Perry Common and Erdington areas of Birmingham, England (not in nearby Witton). Two brooks, arising at Kingstanding and Bleak Hill, Erdington, respectively, feed first Witton Lakes, then overspill into Brookvale Park Lake, before reaching the River Tame. The brooks are natural; the lakes were created at the end of the 19th century to supply drinking water for Birmingham.

The Bartons Arms
The Bartons Arms is a pub in the High Street (part of the A34) in the Newtown area of Aston, Birmingham, England. Built in 1901 by noted pub architects partnership James and Lister Lea for Mitchells & Butlers, it is a grade II* listed building, famous for its wall-to-wall Minton-Hollins tiles and its snob screens, which allowed middle class drinkers to see working class drinkers in an adjacent bar, but not to be seen by them.
Witton, West Midlands
Witton is an inner city area in Birmingham, England, in the metropolitan county of the West Midlands. It was within the ancient parish of Aston in the Hemlingford hundred of the historic county of Warwickshire. It is probably best known as the home of Aston Villa Football Club at Villa Park.
Aston Manor
Aston Manor was a local government district in what is now northern Birmingham, from the 19th century to 1911, when it was added to Birmingham. The Aston Manor Local Board of Health was formed in 1869, from part of the ancient parish of Aston. It became an urban sanitary district in 1875, and then under the Local Government Act 1894 became an urban district with a directly elected council. Aston Manor covered the area today known as Aston, including Aston Park, along with Lozells.

Aston Hippodrome
The Aston Hippodrome, also known as The Hipp, was a popular theatre in the Aston area of Birmingham, England. It was opened to the public on December 7, 1908 after the completion of construction at a cost of £10,000. It was designed by James and Lister Lea who had also designed the Bartons Arms public house in the area. The theatre was seriously damaged in 1938 by a fire which resulted in a £38,000 refurbishment.
Ansells
Ansells was a brewery and brewing company located in the Aston area of Birmingham, England. The brewery was founded by Joseph Ansell in 1858 at Aston Cross on the site of several artesian wells (the later HP Sauce factory was adjacent). In 1888 the company was known as Joseph Ansell and Sons and, after becoming a limited company in 1901, grew by acquiring several other smaller local brewers including Rushtons (1923), Lucas of Leamington (1928) and Holt's Brewery (1934).
Perry Bridge
Perry Bridge, also known as the Zig Zag Bridge, is a bridge over the River Tame in Perry Barr, Birmingham, England. Built in 1711, it is said to be the oldest surviving structure in Birmingham. It is a scheduled ancient monument and a Grade II listed building. The bridge was built, in the 18th century, of red sandstone in a packhorse style.
Aston Arena
Aston Arena is an indoor sports and event venue, located in Birmingham, England. Formerly called Aston Events Centre, and also previously Aston Villa Leisure Centre, the venue is situated adjacent to Villa Park football stadium, home of Aston Villa F.C. of the Premier League. The nearest railway stations are Aston railway station and Witton railway station. The venue has played host to many sporting events, and was the former home of basketball teams Birmingham Bullets and Birmingham Athletics.

In 2008 it was the third largest cider company in the UK by market share, and the fourth largest in the world. It is managed by Peter Ellis, son of Doug Ellis. Its products include Frosty Jack's Cider, which was described in 2008 as the UK's leading brand of white cider, and 3 Hammers.
Perry Barr Stadium
Perry Barr Stadium (also known as Perry Barr Greyhound Stadium and previously as Alexander Sports Ground) is a stadium and racetrack on Aldridge Road in Perry Barr, Birmingham, England. Opened in 1929, it was built for Birchfield Harriers, who left in 1977. It is now used for greyhound racing and speedway. The stadium is opposite the main Birmingham City University campus and close to (and served by) Perry Barr railway station.

Big City Radio (launched on 1 November 2005 as Aston FM) is a British community radio station based at Star City in Nechells Birmingham. Notable presenters at the station include long-established West Midlands radio personality Les Ross who became Big City's breakfast show presenter on 7 December 2009. He left the station again at the end of March 2010.
Birmingham School of Media
Birmingham School of Media, known informally as BCU Media, is a school of Birmingham City University in the city of Birmingham, England. It is part of the Faculty of Performance, Media and English (PME), which also includes the Birmingham School of Acting, the Birmingham Conservatoire, and the School of English. Death of Michael Swindells
DC Michael Swindells, QGM, was a British police officer who was stabbed to death on 21 May 2004 in Birmingham whilst attempting to arrest a suspect who had earlier threatened members of the public with a knife.
Brookvale Park
Brookvale Park is located in the Stockland Green Ward of Erdington Constituency in England. The park surrounds Brookvale Park Lake. Within the park there is a bowling green, tennis courts, a children's play area and sailing club. Many local residents and groups take an active interest in the park and the lake.
Aston Reservoir
Aston Reservoir, sometimes known as Salford Lake, Salford Park Pool or Salford Bridge Reservoir, is a 19th-century reservoir, formerly used for drinking water extracted from the River Tame, in Birmingham, England. It was built by the Birmingham Waterworks Company and was at that time situated in the parish of Aston. On 1 January 1876 the company was purchased by Birmingham Corporation Water Department. More recently, it has been a boating lake, although this is no longer the case.
