Dubai
Dubai is a city in the United Arab Emirates, located within the emirate of the same name. The emirate of Dubai is located southeast of the Persian Gulf on the Arabian Peninsula and is one of the seven emirates that make up the country. It has the largest population in the UAE (2,106,177) and the second-largest land territory by area (4,114 km2) after Abu Dhabi.
Port Rashid
Port Rashid, also referred to as Mina Rashid, is a man made, commercial port in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Named after Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, the port opened in 1972. At the time the port only had two gantry cranes and a capacity of less than 100,000 TEUs. In 1978, the port was expanded to include 35 berths (five of which were able to be used by the largest container ships at the time).
Bur Dubai
Bur Dubai is a historic district in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, located on the western side of the Dubai Creek. The name literally translates to Mainland Dubai, a reference to the traditional separation of the Bur Dubai area from Deira by the Dubai Creek. This is because Bur Dubai historically consisted of all districts between the western bank of the Creek and Jumeirah. The Ruler's Court is located in the district adjacent to the Grand Mosque.

Al Shindagha
Al Shindagha, sometimes spelled Al Shindagah or Al Shindaga, is a neighbourhood in the traditional centre of the city of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. From 1912 to 1958, the then ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Saeed Al Maktoum, lived in the area — his residence in Al Shindagha is now open to the public as a museum. It is bordered by the locality of Bur Dubai in the south, and by Port Rashid on the west. The Dubai Creek runs along the district's western periphery.
Al Shindagha Tunnel
Al Shindagha Tunnel is a tunnel in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It goes under Dubai Creek to connect the neighborhoods of Al Ras, Deira and Al Shindagha. It is the only underwater crossing at Dubai Creek. The tunnel has a total of four lanes (two in each direction), a height clearance of 5 meters and speed is limited at 60 km/h. It opened in 1975.
Deira, Dubai
Deira is an area in the city of Dubai, United Arab Emirates bordered by the Persian Gulf, Sharjah and Dubai Creek. Historically, it has been the commercial center of Dubai, but has been losing its importance during the past few years due to recent development along E 11 road (Sheikh Zayed Road) and areas further down the coast toward Abu Dhabi. Port Saeed is a small port along Deira's shore of Dubai Creek. Port Saeed holds some of the dhow cruises and small shipping boats in Dubai.
Etisalat Tower 1
The Etisalat Tower 1 (known as Etisalat Tower until Etisalat Tower 2 began construction) is a 17-floor tower in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The tower has a total structural height of 100 m (328 ft). Upon completion in 1992, Etisalat Tower was the fourth-tallest building in Dubai. The building houses Etisalat's Dubai head office.
Dubai Municipality
Dubai Municipality is the municipal body with jurisdiction over city services and the upkeep of facilities in the Emirate of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It was established in 1954 by the then crown prince of Dubai, Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum. In 2001, the municipality embarked on an e-government project to provide 40 of its city services online through its web portal.
Al Bastakiya
Al Bastakiya is a historic district in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). Together with Al Shindagha, Al Bastakiya is one of the oldest residential areas in the city of Dubai. The locality lies along Dubai Creek and includes narrow lanes and wind towers, as well as the Al Fahidi Fort, the oldest existing building in Dubai. The construction of Al Bastakiya dates back to the 1890s.

Al Souk Al Kabir, also referred to as Souk Al Kabir or Meena Bazaar, is a community in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). Al Souk Al Kabir is located in the area of Bur Dubai and is one of the oldest residential areas in the city and houses a predominantly South Asian population, restaurants and shops. The locality, referred to as Meena Bazaar by the local Pakistani and Indian community, also encompasses the historic Al Bastakiya district of Dubai.
Al Hamriya, Dubai
Al Hamriya is a locality in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). It is located in western Dubai, along Dubai Creek in Bur Dubai. Al Hamriya is largely a residential area; however several shopping complexes and foreign consulates are in its proximity. Dubai Creek is to the north; the locality of Al Souk Al Kabir and Umm Hurair are located to its west and east, respectively.

Al Ras is a locality in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). It is the easternmost locality in the area of Deira and borders the Dubai Creek to the west and south, and Al Dhagaya and Al Buteen to the east. Al Ras, literally meaning The Cape, is one of the oldest communities in Deira. Al Sabkha is a locality in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). Al Sabkha is a small community between Al Rigga, Naif, Al Dhagaya and Al Buteen in the Deira region of eastern Dubai. Al Sabkha, literally meaning marshland is bounded to the east by Al Sabkha Road (109th Street), to the east by 21st Street and to the north by route D 82 (Al Naif Road).

Al Buteen is a locality in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). Al Buteen is located in eastern Dubai, in Deira and is bounded to its west by Al Ras, its east by Al Sabkha and its north by Al Dhagaya. Dubai Creek forms the southern periphery of the locality. Al Buteen is located between Old Baladiya Street (110th Road) and 21st Street. Due to its location in the central business district area of Deira, retail space in Al Buteen is expensive.

Al Dhagaya is a locality in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). Located in eastern Dubai in Deira, Al Dhagaya forms part of Dubai's northeastern coast along the Persian Gulf. Al Dhagaya is located near the Deira Corniche and is bounded by Al Baraha, Al Ras, Al Sabkha and Ayil Nasir. One of the more populous residential areas of west Deira, Al Dhagaya also has a prominent economic district with souks and traditional markets.

Al Murar is a locality in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). Al Murar is located in eastern Dubai in Deira and is bordered by the Deira Corniche in the north, Naif in the south, Ayil Nasir to the west and Al Baraha to the east. Routes D 92 (Al Khaleej Road) and D 82 (Naif Road) form the northern and southern peripheries around the localities. Al Murar is a residential community in the heart of the Deira central business district.

Ayal Nasir is a locality in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). Ayal Nasir is located in the heart of Deira in eastern Dubai. Ayal Nasir is bordered to the west by Al Dhagaya, the east by Al Murar, the south by Naif and to the north by the Deira Corniche. The local road system in Ayal Nasir follows the grid plan. Even-numbered roads run east-west through the community (from 2nd Street to 20th Street), while odd-numbered roads run north-south (from 1C Street to 23rd Street).

Dubai Gold Souk or Gold Souk, is a traditional market in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The souk is located in the heart of Dubai's commercial business district in Deira, in the locality of Al Dhagaya. The souk consists of over 300 retailers that trade almost exclusively in jewellery. Retailers in the souk include both well established stores like Damas, ARY Jewellery, Shyam Jewellery and Joy Alukkas as well as smaller stores that operate mainly in the gold souk.

New Indian Model School
New Indian Model School was started in 1988 and is located in Al Garhoud, Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). It has more than 6000 students currently studying. The founder of the school, Mr. Kamaluddin Haji, started the school by renting apartments. The onset of the heavy migration of workers and labourers from Indian subcontinent to Dubai, during the oil boom, was particularly good for the school. The school provided concessions for families sending multiple children.

Geography of Dubai
Dubai is situated on the Persian Gulf coast of the United Arab Emirates. Apart from being a city, it also forms one of the seven emirates of the country. It is roughly at sea level . The emirate of Dubai shares borders with Abu Dhabi in the south, Sharjah in the northeast, and the Sultanate of Oman in the southeast. Hatta, a minor exclave of the emirate, is surrounded on three sides by Oman and by the emirates of Ajman (in the west) and Ras Al Khaimah (in the north).
Ali bin Abi Talib Mosque (Dubai)
Ali bin Abi Talib Mosque is a mosque in Dubai, just to the northwest of Dubai Museum. Lonely Planet describes it as a "simple yet striking mosque in the textile area of Bur Dubai Souq" and is notable for its "sensuous, bulbous domes and gently tapering minaret."
Dubai Museum
Dubai Museum is the main museum in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It is located in the Al Fahidi Fort, built in 1787 and is the oldest existing building in Dubai. The museum was opened by the ruler of Dubai in 1971, with the aim of presenting the traditional way of life in the Emirate of Dubai. It includes local antiquities as well as artifacts from African and Asian countries that traded with Dubai. It also includes several dioramas showing life in the emirate before the advent of oil.
