Badrutt's Palace Hotel
The historic Palace Hotel in St. Moritz — more recently renamed as Badrutt's Palace Hotel — is an internationally known hotel in St Moritz, Switzerland, famous for its glitz and glamor. It was constructed over four years and opened in 1896 as a successor to the Krup Hause resort hotel which had been the first cold weather winter resort. Lake St. Moritz
Lake St. Moritz is a lake near St. Moritz, Switzerland. With a surface of 0.78 km², it is smaller than the main lakes of the Upper Engadin valley. Every January or early February, Polo matches are held on the lake. Compared to polo played in the summer, a slightly larger and lighter red ball is used that is easily visible in the snow. For three weekends every February, horse races are held on the frozen lake.
Hahnensee
Hahnensee is a lake above St. Moritz in the Grisons, Switzerland at 2153 m above sealevel. Next to the lake there is a restaurant of the same name. In the summer time, the area can be reached by several hiking trails. In the Winter skiers coming from the Piz Corvatsch can take the Giand'Alva skilift and ski down the almost 9km long ski run, also called Hahnensee, into St. Mortitz-Bad. Though the run can only be opened after significant snowfall has accumulated.
St. Moritz Library
Bibliothek St. Moritz (in English St. Moritz Library) is a library in St. Moritz in Switzerland. It is divided into a "Leihbibliothek" and a "Dokumentationsbibliothek". Located inside the old school building dominating the Plazza da Scoula in the town the library possesses over 7000 books written in a number of languages including German, Italian, French and English. On the ground floor is the reception and lending area and the main hall of the library.
Champfèr
Champfèr is a village in the Upper Engadin valley of the canton of Graubünden, Switzerland. The Western part of the village belongs to the municipality of Silvaplana and part of the village belongs to the municipality of St. Moritz. The two halves of the town are separated by the creek Ova da Suvretta. Lej da Champfèr, a basin of Lake Silvaplana, takes its name from the village. The village used to house a convent that has since been converted to the hotel Chesa Guardalej.
Lej Nair (Silvaplana)
Lej Nair (literally "Black Lake") is a lake above Silvaplana in the Engadin valley, Grisons, Switzerland. A hiking trail leads from Lej Marsch to Lej Nair. Hahnensee (Lej dals Chöds) and Lej Zuppo are located close by.
St. Moritz (Rhaetian Railway station)
St. Moritz is a railway station in St. Moritz, Switzerland. It is the southern terminus of the Albula Railway line from Chur. Hourly services operate on this section of the line. There is also an hourly service on the Bernina Railway line from St. Moritz to Tirano, Italy. There are currently five platforms in use at this station. The station serves as a terminus for local bus and Postbus services. St Moritz is a terminus not just for the Albula Railway but also for the Bernina Railway.
St. Moritz–Corviglia funicular
The St. Moritz–Corviglia funicular (German: Standseilbahn St. Moritz–Corviglia; STMC) is a funicular railway in the canton of Graubünden, Switzerland. The line links the town of St. Moritz with the Corviglia summit and ski area, and comprises two sections of differing gauge, with passengers changing cars at the intermediate station of Chantarella. At Corviglia, the funicular connects with an aerial tramway to the summit of Piz Nair.
