GRU
GRU or Glavnoye Razvedyvatel'noye Upravleniye is the foreign military intelligence main directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation (formerly the Soviet Army General Staff of the Soviet Union). "GRU" is the English transliteration of the Russian acronym ГРУ, which stands for "Главное Разведывательное Управление", meaning Main Intelligence Directorate.
Khodynka Field
Khodynka Field (Russian: Ходынское поле, Khodynskoye pole) is a large open space in the north-west of Moscow, at the beginning of the present day Leningradsky Prospect. It takes its name from the small Khodynka River which used to cross the neighbourhood. Major constructions on the field included the 19th century military barracks and the Botkin Hospital, the largest in Moscow at the time of its inauguration in 1910.

Although the school is currently offering a wide range of majors and research programs well beyond just the aviation-related ones, the historical shorter name Moscow Aviation Institute is almost always used in reference to it.
Voykovskaya
Voykovskaya is a Moscow Metro station on the Zamoskvoretskaya Line. It was opened on 31 December 1964 along with two neighbouring stations to the north, Vodny Stadion and Rechnoy Vokzal. All were built according to the standardized pillar-trispan design, which was widely used in the 1960s as a cost-saving measure. The station's architects were I. Petukhova and A. Fokina. The entrance of the station is located under the M10 highway.
Sokol (Moscow Metro)
Sokol is a Moscow Metro station on the Zamoskvoretskaya Line. The station opened on 11 September 1938. Designed by K. Yakovlev, V. Polikarpova, and V. Andreev, it features a single row of pillars which flare upward into the arched ceiling, separated by circular coffers. Sokol is finished in a variety of materials, including white and gray Koyelga marble, onyx, granite, and white ceramic tile. The two entrances to the station are located on both sides of Leningradsky Prospekt.
Aeroport (Moscow Metro)
Aeroport is a Moscow Metro station on the Zamoskvoretskaya Line. Its name, literally meaning airport, owes to the nearby Khodynka Aerodrome, Moscow's first airport which has by now ceased operation. Presently there is a bus terminal (Goraerovokzal, Гораэровокзал) which has regular service to Moscow's principal airports. Opened as part of the second stage in 1938, the station features a single-vault design.
Polezhayevskaya
Polezhayevskaya is a station on the Moscow Metro's Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya Line. Opened on December 30, 1972 as part of the original Krasnopresnenkiy radius and Krasnopresnenskaya Line, the station is unusual in the Metro as its construction features three pathways and two platforms. While it was not the first station to be built with such a design, the purpose for such a design was different.
Khodynka Tragedy
The Khodynka Tragedy was a human stampede that occurred on 30 May 1896, on Khodynka Field in Moscow, Russia during the festivities following the coronation of the last Russian Emperor Nicholas II, which resulted in the deaths of 1,389 people.

The arena has a maximum capacity of 14,500 people. It is situated in the Khodynka Field and was completed in December 2006. It was one of the arenas to host the 2007 Men's World Ice Hockey Championships. It also was the home of the Sultan Ibragimov vs.
Leningradsky Avenue
Leningradsky Prospekt, or Leningrad Avenue, is a major arterial avenue in Moscow, Russia. It continues the path of Tverskaya Street and 1st Tverskaya-Yamskaya Street north-west from Belorussky Rail Terminal, and changes the name once again to Leningrad Highway past the Sokol metro station. The Highway continues its way to Saint Petersburg via Tver (not unlike Moskovsky Prospekt in Saint Petersburg, which is named after, and leads to, Moscow).
Khodynka Aerodrome
Khodynka Aerodrome (officially Frunze Central Aerodrome) was an airport in Moscow, Russia located 7 kilometres northwest of the centre of the city. It was the only airport in the city until the opening of Vnukovo in 1941. It is no longer active and today the whole site has been redeveloped for other uses. It was home to a large number of stored aircraft from Sukhoi and Mikoyan-Gurevich (which were moved to Lukhovitsy).

Construction work on Moscow Octod Tower started in 2004. It was completed in 2006. The owner of the tower is the broadcasting company "Octod". Formula Hybrid is a design and engineering challenge for undergraduate and graduate college and university students. Started at the Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth College, and sponsored by the Society of Automotive Engineers, the competition is a spinoff of the Formula SAE competition based on hybrid vehicle technology. They must design, build, and compete an open-wheel, single-seat race car.
Stroganov Moscow State University of Arts and Industry
Stroganov Moscow State University of Arts and Industry (Russian: Московский Государственный Художественно-Промышленный Университет имени С. Г Стороганова) informally named Stroganovka (Строгановка) is one of the oldest Russian schools for the industrial, monumental and decorative art and design. The University is named after its founder, baron Sergei Grigoriyevich Stroganov.
The Gorbachev Foundation
The Gorbachev Foundation is a non-profit organization headquartered in San Francisco, California, founded by the former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev in December 1991 and began its work since January 1992. The foundation is active in researching the Perestroika era, current issues of Russian history and politics. It is financed by Mikhail Gorbachev and donations by people and companies.
CSKA Moscow Stadium
CSKA Moscow Stadium is a multi-use stadium in Moscow, Russia, that is under construction as of 2007. Once completed in 2013, it will be used mostly for football matches and will host the homes matches of PFC CSKA Moscow. Unfortunately the construction process has been halted several times, with the longest pause lasting 16 months (between 2009 and 2011). The stadium was designed with a capacity of 30,000 people.
Sokol District
Sokol District is a district of Northern Administrative Okrug of Moscow, Russia. Population: 57,528; 57,317. The name of the district was given after the settlement of Sokol built in the 1920s. Earlier, the village of Vsekhsvyatskoye existed on this location. In 1938, metro station Sokol was opened here.

New Humanitarian School (NHS, Russian: Новая гуманитарная школа "Novaya Gumanitarnaya Shkola", НГШ) is a private primary school and secondary in Aeroport District, Northern Administrative Okrug, Moscow, Russia, with education from grades 1 through 11. It also offers a preparatory program for children of ages 4 and 5. Vasiliy Georgievich Bogin is the founder and current director of the school. As of 2011 the school has small class sizes and about 150 students.
HSE Faculty of Sociology
The HSE Faculty of Sociology is one of the departments of the Russian National research university "Higher school of economics", which was established in 1999 and headed by Alexander Kryshtanovsky until his death in 2005. The HSE is the biggest centre for socio-economical analysis in Russia and Eastern Europe. It awards Bachelor (after 4 years of study), Master (after 6 years of study) and PhD degrees in sociology.
