Braga District
The district of Braga is a district in the northwest of Portugal. The district capital is the city of Braga, and it is bordered by the district of Viana do Castelo in the north, Vila Real in the east, and Porto in the south. Its area is 2,673 km² and it has a population of 831,368.
Cávado Subregion
Cávado is a subregion that is integrated in the Portuguese region of Norte. It has 6 municipalities or concelhos (in Portuguese) and is centered in the city of Braga (pop. 153,000). With an area of 1,243 km² and a population of 404,681 inhabitants, it is one of the most densely populated subregions of Portugal. Its name is derived from the Cávado River that drains a large part of its territory.
Estádio Primeiro de Maio
Estádio Primeiro de Maio (in English 1 May Stadium) is a multi-purpose stadium in Braga, Portugal. It was used mostly for football matches. The stadium is able to hold 28,800 people and was built in 1950. The first name of the Stadium was Estadio 28 de Maio (28 May Stadium) in memory of 28th May 1926 coup d'état. After the Carnation Revolution in 1974, it was changed to its current name.

The Saint Paul Church in Portuguese, Igreja de São Paulo is a Portuguese 16th-century church in Braga, Portugal, dedicated to Saint Paul the Apostle of Jesus. The church was built by the Jesuits, in the time of the Archbishop Bartholomew of Braga, with a pure simple facade which is in contrast to its luxurious baroque interior with a magnificent wood carving work in the altars.
Museum Medina
The Museum Medina is located in Braga, Portugal, in the same building of the Pius XII Museum. The collection comprises 83 oil paintings and 21 drawings of the painter Henrique Medina. Among the collection there are many portraits, still life and landscapes. The museum was inaugurated on 21 June 1984, and was donated by the artist himself. Henrique Medina (1901-1988) was born in Porto where he graduated in art. He also studied in Paris, Rome and London.
D. Diogo de Sousa Museum
The D. Diogo de Sousa Museum is located in Braga, Portugal. The Museum was founded in 1918 and moved to the new house in 2007 June 29. The Museum is housed in a specially designed building in the center of what was the Roman City of Bracara Augusta. Its collection mostly comprises items from excavations that took place in Braga with a vast chronological and cultural period, from the Palaeolithic to the Middle Ages.

The Pius XII Museum is located in Braga, Portugal, in the same building of the Museum Medina, as the name from the Pope Pius XII. The collection of the museum comprise Palaeolithic, Neolithic and Bronze age implements, Pre-historic and Luso-Roman pottery. In the museum is a Peristyle part of a Roman Villa in the original location.

Battle of Braga (1809)
The Battle of Braga or Battle of Póvoa de Lanhoso or Battle of Carvalho d'Este (20 March 1809) saw an Imperial French corps led by Marshal Nicolas Soult attack a Portuguese army commanded by Baron Christian Adolph Friedrich von Eben. Soult's professional soldiers slaughtered large numbers of their opponents, who were mostly badly disciplined and poorly armed militia. The action occurred during the Peninsular War, part of the Napoleonic Wars.
