University of Łódź
The University of Łódź was founded May 24, 1945 in Łódź, Poland, as a continuation of educational institutions functioning in Łódź in the interwar period — the Teacher Training Institute (1921–1928), the Higher School of Social and Economic Sciences (1924–1928) and a division of the Free Polish University (1928–1939). The University of Łódź is a fully accredited, state-owned, traditional university. It is one of 18 institutions of its type in Poland.
Radegast railway station
Radegast is a former railway station in Łódź, Poland. It was built during World War II just beyond the boundary of the Łódź Ghetto to serve as the ghetto's main transport link to the outside world. In the course of the Holocaust, the station was the place where Jewish and other inhabitants of Łódź were gathered for transport out of the ghetto and the city to the Kulmhof and Auschwitz death camps.
