Wrocław

Wrocław (situated on the River Oder in Lower Silesia, is the largest city in western Poland. Wrocław is the historical capital of Silesia, and today is the capital of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship. At various times it has been part of the Kingdom of Poland, Bohemia, the Austrian Empire, Prussia, and Germany; it has been part of Poland since 1945, as a result of border changes after World War II. Its population in 2011 was 631,235, making it the fourth largest city in Poland.

Wrocław County

Wrocław County is a unit of territorial administration and local government in Lower Silesian Voivodeship, south-western Poland. It came into being on January 1, 1999, as a result of the Polish local government reforms passed in 1998. The county covers an area of 1,116 square kilometres . Its administrative seat is the city of Wrocław, although this city is not part of the county (it forms a separate city county).

The University of Wrocław (UWr) is a public, research university located in Wrocław, Poland. It is one of the oldest (established in 1702) collegiate-level institutions of higher education in Central Europe with around 40,000 students at present. Tumski Bridge

Tumski Bridge is a steel bridge over the north branch of the Oder river in Wrocław, Poland. Constructed in 1889 it replaced an old wooden bridge to connect Ostrów Tumski and Wyspa Piaskowa. Until 1945, its name was Dombrücke. It is an old road bridge now open to pedestrians only. Tumski Bridge is also called Lovers Bridge, Cathedral Bridge or Green Bridge. It's a place of enamoured tradition for lovers. The bridge is full of padlocks which lovers leave to cherish their feelings.

Wrocław Cathedral

The Cathedral of St. John the Baptist in Wrocław, (Polish: Archikatedra św. Jana Chrzciciela, German: Breslauer Dom, Kathedrale St. Johannes des Täufers), is the seat of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Wrocław and a landmark of the city of Wrocław in Poland. The cathedral, located in the Ostrów Tumski district, is a Gothic church with Neo-Gothic additions. The current standing cathedral is the fourth church to have been built on the site.

Piast Brewery

Piast Brewery is a defunct brewery, located in Wrocław, Poland. It was founded in 1872, when the city of Wrocław, known as Breslau, belonged to the German Empire. The brewery was founded by Carl Scholtz, and until 1910, its name was Brauerei Pfeifferhof Carl Scholtz. By 1945, the enterprise changed names three times: Schultheiss`Brauerei AG, Abt. V (ZBv. Berlin) (1910–1920), Schultheiss- Patzenhofer- Brauerei AG, Abt. V (1920–1938), Schultheiss- Brauerei AG Berlin, Abt. Breslau (1938–1945).

Wrocław Market Hall

Wrocław Market Hall was designed by Richard Plüddemann and built between 1906-08. It is situated by Ulica Piaskowa, at the junction of Plac Nankiera and Ulica Sw. Ducha close to Market Square, Wrocław and oldest districts of Wrocław. The Hall was completed along with similar building at Ulica Kolejowa. Both buildings were created in order to organize street trading in the city center. Once completed, all street markets have been moved into the newly opened halls.
