Parliament of Norway
The Storting is the supreme legislature of Norway, located in Oslo. The unicameral parliament has 169 members, and is elected every four years based on party-list proportional representation in nineteen plural member constituencies. The assembly is led by a presidium of a president and five vice presidents; since 2009 Dag Terje Andersen has been president. The members are allocated to twelve standing committees, as well as four procedural committees.
National Museum of Art, Architecture and Design
The National Museum of Art, Architecture and Design (Norwegian: Nasjonalmuseet for kunst, arkitektur og design) in Oslo is the national museum of art of Norway. It was established on 1 July 2003 through a merger of the Norwegian Museum of Architecture, the Museum of Decorative Arts and Design, the Museum of Contemporary Art, the National Gallery of Norway, and the National Touring Exhibitions.
Stortinget (station)
Stortinget is an underground rapid transit station on the Common Line of the Oslo Metro, Norway. It is located in the heart of the city center, next to the Parliament of Norway Building (Stortinget). The station is served by all six lines of the metro. At the street level, the station serves tram routes 17, 18 and 19 on the Ullevål Hageby Line as Tinghuset and Prof. Aschehougs gate. Stortinget is 'kilometer marker zero' for the metro network and is owned by Kollektivtransportproduksjon.
Oslo Nye Teater
Oslo Nye Teater in Oslo is one of Norway's most visited theatres. The theatre opened in 1959 as a merge between Det Nye Teater and Folketeatret, and consists of four stages; Oslo Nye Hovedscenen, Oslo Nye Centralteatret, Oslo Nye Trikkestallen and Oslo Nye Caféscenen.
Karl Johans gate
Karl Johans gate is the main street of the city of Oslo, Norway. The street was named in honor of King Charles III John, who was also King of Sweden as Charles XIV John. Karl Johans gate is a composite of several older streets that used to be separate thoroughfares. The eastern section was part of Christian IV's original city near the ramparts surrounding the city. When the ramparts were removed to make way for Oslo Cathedral, three separate sections eventually became Østre Gade.
National Theatre (Oslo)
The National Theatre in Oslo is one of Norway's largest and most prominent venues for performance of dramatic arts. The theatre had its first performance on 1 September 1899 but can trace its origins to Christiania Theatre, which was founded in 1829. There were three official opening performances, on subsequent days in September; First, selected pieces by Ludvig Holberg, then An Enemy of the People by Henrik Ibsen, and on the third day Sigurd Jorsalfar by Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson.
Museum of Cultural History, Oslo
Museum of Cultural History (Kulturhistorisk museum) is an organisation at the University of Oslo, Norway. It was established in 1999 as Universitetets kulturhistoriske museum with the merging of the bodies Oldsaksamlingen, Myntkabinettet og Etnografisk museum. In 2004 the name was changed to Kulturhistorisk museum.
Grand Hotel (Oslo)
Grand Hotel is a hotel in Oslo, Norway. The hotel is best known as is the annual venue of the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize. Grand Hotel is situated in a very central location on the main thoroughfare, the Karl Johans gate, between the Norwegian Parliament building and the Royal Palace. It is within walking distance of Oslo's main shopping and cultural areas, as well as its sights. The hotel was opened in 1874 and is one of the most traditional hotels in Norway.
Det Norske Teatret
Det Norske Teatret is a theatre in Oslo. The theatre was founded in 1912, after an initiative from Hulda Garborg and Edvard Drabløs. It opened in 1913, touring with two plays, Ervingen by Ivar Aasen and Rationelt Fjøsstell by Hulda Garborg. Its first official performance was Ludvig Holberg's comedy Jeppe på berget, with Haakon VII of Norway and the prime minister of Norway among the spectators. Hulda Garborg was the first board manager, and Rasmus Rasmussen was the first theatre director.

Eidsvolls plass
Eidsvolls plass ('Eidsvoll Square') is a square and park in Oslo, Norway, located west of the Parliament of Norway Building, south of Karl Johans gate and east of Studenterlunden and the National Theatre. It has been referred to as "the National Mall of Norway".
Sehesteds plass
Sehesteds plass ('Sehested's Square') is a square in Oslo, Norway. The square is modelled after Place Vendôme in Paris, and is named after the Governor of Norway Hannibal Sehested. The publishing houses H. Aschehoug & Co and Gyldendal Norsk Forlag have their respective headquarters here. The square is a plot element in Henrik H. Langeland's novel Wonderboy.
Parliament of Norway Building
The Parliament of Norway Building is the seat of the Parliament of Norway, located in central Oslo. The building is located at Karl Johans gate 22 and was taken into use on 5 March 1866. It was designed by the Swedish architect Emil Victor Langlet.
Edderkoppen Theatre
The Edderkoppen Theatre (meaning Spider Theatre) is a theatre located at St. Olav's place in Oslo, Norway. From 1967 to 2003 it was called the ABC theatre. The theatre is known for varied entertainment, ranging from comedy to musical shows.
Anatomigården
Anatomigården (also known as Brennerigården) is one of the few remaining houses in Oslo, Norway built with the timber framing method. It is located in the oldest area of Oslo city, where about 50% of the buildings were half-timbered in the middle of 18th century. This area is called Kvadraturen. The facades (brick walls) of the building are sanded and covered with layers of protective rock materials, so the timbers are only visible on the gables.
Egertorget
Egertorget, formerly known as Egertorvet, is a square in Oslo at the intersection of Karl Johans gate and Øvre Slottsgate. It is not really a torg, but a "remainder area" which arose around 1840, when Slotsveien(Karl Johans Gate) became connected with the old Østre Gade(Eastern Road) alongside Stabellkroken. Stabellgården and Egergården were torn down in order to tie the streets together.
Centralteatret
Centralteatret is a theatre in Akersgata, Oslo, Norway. Centralteatret was established by the Alma Isabella Bosse Fahlstrøm (1863-1946) and Johan Peter Broust Fahlstrøm (1867-1938) in 1897. From 1902, Harald Otto (1865-1928) was the theater manager and owner. His son, Reidar Otto, subsequently ran it, while his son, Harald Otto joined as manager in 1938. Members of the Otto family ran the theater until 1959. Since 1959 the premises have been used partly as a television studio.
Oslo Courthouse
The Oslo Courthouse is located in downtown Oslo, Norway at C.J. Hambros plass 4 and houses the two Oslo District Courts, the tingrett which handles civil and criminal cases, and the byfogdembete which considers other enforcement cases such as marriages, bankruptcy, probate, and official notarization. The building was designed by Østgaard Arkitekter AS and the architect Terje Grønmo on an assignment from Statsbygg. It was completed in 1994.
Christiania torv (station)
Christiania Torv is a tramway station on the Oslo Tramway. Located in Kvadraturen in downtown of Oslo, it was opened by Oslo Sporveier in 1994 as a part of the Vika Line. It is served by line 12. Christiania Torv Rådhusplassen Line 12 Kirkegata
Pilestredet
Pilestredet is a street in Oslo, Norway which begins in the city center and runs through the boroughs of St. Hanshaugen and Frogner. The street was originally called Rakkerstrædet in reference to the city dump being located along the road at today's Pilestredet Park. It was renamed in 1820 to Pilestrædveien for all the willow trees along the road. Rikshospitalet was located there earlier, now superseded by Pilestredet Park.
Studenterlunden
Studenterlunden is a park in the city center of Oslo, Norway. It is surrounded by Karl Johans gate, Stortingsgata, Universitetsgata and Frederiks gate. Within the park lays the National Theatre. It also contains one of the entrances to Nationaltheatret Station of the Oslo Metro and Nationaltheatret Station on the Drammen Line.
National Gallery of Norway
The National Gallery of Norway is a gallery in Oslo, Norway. Since 2003 it is administratively a part of the National Museum of Art, Architecture and Design.

Herr Nilsen Jazz Club
Herr Nilsen Jazz Club is a jazz club in Oslo, Norway. It is located just to the southeast of the Norwegian National Gallery, just metres north of the Hotel Bristol and Oslo Nye Teater, overlooking the courthouse square. Darwin Porter of Frommer's describes the club as "one of the most congenial spots in Oslo and a personal favorite. " It often hosts internationally and nationally famous jazz musicians, with a focus on Dixieland jazz music of New Orleans.
Oslo International Church Music Festival
Oslo International Church Music Festival (Norwegian: Oslo internasjonale Kirkemusikkfestival) is a church music festival held every year in March in Oslo, Norway. The festival, founded in 2000 by artistic and festival director Bente Johnsrud is cured by a non-profit organization of the same name, and staged under the patronage of Mette-Marit, Crown Princess of Norway.
