Otago Region
Otago is a region of New Zealand in the south of the South Island. The region covers an area of approximately 32,000 square kilometres making it the country's third largest region. The population of Otago is 211,300 from the June 2012 estimate. The name "Otago" is an old southern Maori word whose North Island dialect equivalent is "Otakou", introduced to the south by Europeans in the 1840s.
Speight's
Speight's is a brewery in Dunedin, New Zealand. Speight's is famous for its promotional branding based on being 'a real southern man' and being 'the pride of the south'. Speight's also gave rise to a series of Speight's Ale Houses across New Zealand, though despite using the term 'ale' the company only brews lager style beers. Speight's is owned by the Japanese owned holding company Lion.
Carisbrook
Carisbrook (sometimes incorrectly referred to as Carisbrook Stadium) was a major sporting venue in Dunedin, New Zealand. The city's main domestic and international rugby union venue, it has also been used for other sports such as cricket, football, rugby league and motocross. Carisbrook has also hosted a Joe Cocker concert and frequently hosted pre-game concerts before rugby matches in the 1990s.
Princes Street, Dunedin
Princes Street (often misspelt as "Princess Street") is a major street in Dunedin, the second largest city in the South Island of New Zealand. It runs south-southwest for two kilometres from The Octagon in the city centre to the Oval sports ground, close to the city's Southern Cemetery. North of The Octagon, George Street continues the line of Princes Street north-northeast for two and a half kilometres.
Caversham AFC
Caversham is an association football club based in Dunedin, New Zealand. They compete in the ODT FootballSouth Premier League. They are named for the suburb of Caversham to the southwest of Dunedin's city centre, best known for its former international sports venue Carisbrook. Caversham AFC, however, are based not there but at Tonga Park, located one kilometre to the south in the suburb of Forbury.
Hillside Engineering
Hillside Engineering Group is a trading division of the rail operator KiwiRail in Dunedin, New Zealand. Most of its work is related to KiwiRail, but it also does work for the marine industry in Dunedin. On 19 April 2012 KiwiRail announced it was putting Hillside on the market for sale. In November 2012 KiwiRail announced it had sold part of the business to Australian firm Bradken, and the rest would be closed.

Beverly-Begg Observatory
The Beverly-Begg Observatory a New Zealand astronomical observatory, situated on Robin Hood Park in the Belleknowes part of Dunedin's town belt. It was established in 1922 by the Dunedin Astronomical Society and is the home of the group. The annex was added in the 1960s.
King's High School, Dunedin
King's High School is a state single-sex boys' secondary school in Dunedin, New Zealand. It is located at the southern end of the city close to the boundary between the suburbs of South Dunedin, St. Clair and Forbury, next to the parallel single-sex girls' school, Queen's High School. Both schools share several facilities, including the multi-million dollar Performing Arts Centre which opened in 2006. The school dates back to 1936, and held its 75th anniversary in late 2010.
Mayfair Theatre, Dunedin
The Mayfair Theatre, Dunedin, New Zealand, was opened on December 8, 1914 as the "King Edward Picture Theatre". It is owned by the Dunedin Opera Company and serves as a 400 seat venue for live performances for a number of local community groups and as the Dunedin venue for some touring agencies. It is located in King Edward Street, South Dunedin, close to the crossroads known as Cargill's Corner. It was built as a purpose-designed cinema in 1914 by the King Edward Picture Theatre Company.
Arthur Street Cemetery
Arthur Street cemetery was the first cemetery built in Dunedin, New Zealand. It is situated on the City Rise, on the corner of Arthur Street and Rattray Street, on the slopes overlooking the city's centre, which lies 500 metres to the east. The first burial at the site was of surveyor's labourer James Campbell, buried on October 29, 1846, over a year before the settlement of Dunedin was founded in 1848.
Dunedin Street Circuit
Dunedin Street Circuit is a temporary street circuit for classic and club racers following some of Dunedin's 1950s street circuit. It is situated at the southern end of Dunedin's city centre, some 1500 metres south of The Octagon. The 2.9km circuit is a combination of flat and gently hilly sections, the circuit uses several of Dunedin's main streets, including the Dunedin Southern Motorway extension along the southern edge of the Oval sports grounds and the southern end of Princes Street.
Caversham, New Zealand
Caversham is one of the older suburbs of the South Island New Zealand city of Dunedin. It is sited at the western edge of the city's central plain at the mouth of the steep Caversham Valley, which rises to the saddle of Lookout Point. Major road and rail routes south lie nearby; the South Island Main Trunk railway runs through the suburb, and a bypass skirts its main retail area, connecting Dunedin's one-way street system with the Dunedin Southern Motorway.
City Rise
City Rise is an inner suburb of the New Zealand city of Dunedin. One of the city's older suburbs, it is, as its name suggests, centred on the slopes which lie close to the city centre, particularly those closest to the city's original heart of The Exchange (for this reason, places are said to be on the City Rise rather that in City Rise). Extensive views across the central city can be gained from much of City Rise.
Mornington, Otago
Mornington is a suburb of the city of Dunedin, in the South Island of New Zealand. It is situated on hilly slopes 2 kilometres to the west of the city centre, the slopes forming part of a ridge which surrounds the heart of the city. At the time of the 2006 census, the permanent population was 3,393, a decrease of 15 since 2001. The use of the name Mornington for the area was first recorded in 1862.
South Dunedin
South Dunedin is a major inner city suburb of the New Zealand city of Dunedin. It is located, as its name suggests, 2.5 kilometres to the south of the city centre, on part of a large plain known locally simply as "The Flat". The suburb is a mix of industrial, retail, and predominantly lower-quality residential properties. South Dunedin's 2006 population was 2,490, a decrease of 48 people from 2001.
Kensington, New Zealand
Kensington is a small suburb of the New Zealand city of Dunedin, nestled to the south of a hilly spur between the central city and the major suburb of South Dunedin, some 2.4 kilometres to the south of the city centre. The suburb was named for the leafy London suburb, possibly by John Hyde Harris, who subdivided the area in the 1860s. Kensington is located on and around King Edward Street, close to the point at which it becomes Princes Street.
Maryhill, New Zealand
Maryhill is a residential suburb of the New Zealand city of Dunedin. It is located on a ridge to the southwest of the central city between the suburbs of Mornington, Kenmure, and Caversham. The smaller suburb of Balaclava lies immediately to its west. Maryhill takes its name from a district in the city of Glasgow in Scotland, where many of the early settlers of the suburb originated.
St. Matthew's Church, Dunedin
St. Matthew's Church is an inner-city Anglican parish church, located on the City Rise in Dunedin, New Zealand. Designed by William Mason (1810-1897) the foundation stone was laid on 11 July 1873 and the building was consecrated on 3 December 1874. It cost 4,874 pounds to construct which wasn't paid off until 1901. It comfortably seated 750 people.
Dunedin Southern Cemetery
The Southern Cemetery in the New Zealand city of Dunedin was the first major cemetery to be opened in the city. The cemetery was opened in 1858, ten years after the founding of the city in an area known as "Little Paisley". This area lies at the southern end of Princes Street, one of the city's main streets, close to the suburbs of Kensington, Maryhill, and The Glen.
Dunedin Casino
The Dunedin Casino opened in 1999 in the city of Dunedin in New Zealand. It is located in The Exchange, 0.5 kilometres south of the city centre, in the Southern Cross Hotel building. The Gambling Commission suspended the casino's license for two days in 2006, after it was found to have let a woman gamble $6.6 million over a three-year period.

High Street School (Dunedin) is a primary school bounded by High, Alva, Montpellier Streets and Queens Drive in the central suburb of Mornington, in the southern city of Dunedin, New Zealand. It is one of approximately 45 primary schools in Dunedin.
South Dunedin Recreation Ground
South Dunedin Recreation Ground is a cricket ground in South Dunedin, Otago, New Zealand. The first recorded cricket match held on the ground came in February 1864 when Otago played Canterbury in a first-class match, in what was the first ever first-class match to be held in New Zealand. Otago played eight further first-class matches there, the last of which saw them play Canterbury in February 1878.
