North Shore City
North Shore City is a former territorial authority district in the Auckland region of New Zealand, which was governed by the North Shore City Council from 1989 until 2010. The city had an estimated population of 229,000 at 30 June 2010, making it the fourth most populous city in New Zealand prior to the November 2010 reorganisation. The former city was also the country's fourth largest city in land, with an area of 129.81 square kilometres and a coastline of 141 kilometres.
Auckland Harbour Bridge
The Auckland Harbour Bridge is an eight-lane box truss motorway bridge over the Waitemata Harbour, joining St Marys Bay in Auckland with Northcote in the former North Shore City, New Zealand. It is part of State Highway 1 and the Auckland Northern Motorway. The bridge is operated by the New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA). It is the second-longest road bridge in New Zealand, and the longest in the North Island.

Waitemata Harbour is the main access by sea to Auckland, New Zealand. For this reason it is often referred to as Auckland Harbour, despite the fact that it is only one of two harbours surrounding the city, and is crossed by the Auckland Harbour Bridge. Marlborough is a suburb of North Shore City, one of the four cities comprising New Zealand's Auckland urban area. It lies eight kilometres to the northwest of the Auckland CBD between the suburbs of Hillcrest and Glenfield. In 2013 this suburb comprised part of the Northcote electorate and is represented by the Member of Parliament Jonathan Coleman, of the National Party.
North Shore Events Centre
North Shore Events Centre is an indoor arena, located in Auckland, New Zealand. The arena opened in 1992 and has a seated capacity of 4,114 plus standing room for about 300 giving a capacity of 4,400. The Centre primarily hosts basketball games and is the home arena of the New Zealand Breakers who play in the Australasian NBL. It also hosts concerts and netball. In 2009 the Centre hosted the final of the FIBA Under-19 World Championship. The final saw the United States defeat Greece 88-80.
Westfield Glenfield
Westfield Glenfield is a shopping centre in Glenfield, part of North Shore City, in Auckland. Opened in 1971, it is situated on the corner of Glenfield Road and Downing Street. The mall was bought by Westfield Group in 1996. In 2000, a major renovation was concluded by Westfield, which cost $100 million. The centre features 132 stores, including the major stores Farmers, The Warehouse, Foodtown and Countdown.
Watchman Island
Watchman Island is a small sandstone island in the Waitemata Harbour of Auckland, New Zealand. It lies approximately 600 metres north of the Herne Bay suburb. In the mid-19th century, the island was known as Sentinel Rock, which appears under this name on an 1857 British Admiralty chart of the Waitemata Harbour. On July 31st 2011 a Maori Sovereignty flag was raised at the top of the island as part of a four-man waka led Hikoi through the harbour. The flag has since been removed.

Chelsea Sugar Refinery
The Chelsea Sugar Refinery, also known colloquially as "Chelsea" and the "sugar works", is a long-established business and landmark in Birkenhead, New Zealand, located on the northern shore of Auckland's Waitemata Harbour. The refinery was established in 1884, and remains New Zealand's main source of sugar products (for both home use and for the food and beverage industry).

Its Maori name is Te Kopua o Matakamokamo, meaning 'the basin of Matakamokamo'. Matakamokamo is an ancestral figure in Maori oral tradition who, during a domestic argument, is said to have inadvertently cursed the goddess of fire, Mahuika.
Onepoto (volcanic crater)
Onepoto is the name of a volcanic explosion crater in North Shore City, New Zealand. It is a part of the Auckland volcanic field. Located near the approaches to the Auckland Harbour Bridge, it was created by a series of eruptions approximately 250,000 years ago. The crater first became a freshwater lake, and later became a tidal lagoon when sea level rose to the present level 7000 yrs ago after the last ice age.
Onepoto Bridge
Onepoto Bridge is a 46 m long pedestrian / cyclist bridge crossing a bush area / tidal stream of the Onepoto area in North Shore City, Auckland, New Zealand. The bridge became necessary after widening of Onewa road towards State Highway 1 made the existing bridge too narrow to carry footpaths. After deciding to build a new bridge, North Shore City Council resolved to construct an iconic structure that would create "architecture integrated into the landscape".
