Myanmar Institute of Theology
The Myanmar Institute of Theology (MIT) is a Protestant Christian Baptist seminary located in Insein Township, Yangon, Myanmar (Burma). The Judson Research Center and the Peace Studies Center are parts of the Myanmar Institute of Theology. Inya Lake
Inya Lake is the largest lake in Yangon, Burma (Myanmar), a popular recreational area for Yangonites, and a famous location for romance in popular culture. Located 6 mi (10 km) north of downtown Yangon, Inya Lake is bounded by Parami Road on the north, Pyay Road on the west, Inya Road on the southwest, University Avenue on the south, and Kaba Aye Pagoda Road on the east. The University of Medicine 2, Yangon (formerly, Institute of Medicine 2) is a university of medicine, located in North Okkalapa, Yangon, Myanmar. The university offers M.B. ,B.S. degrees and graduate (diploma, master's and doctoral) degrees in medical science. The university is one of the most selective in the country, and accepts approximately 600 students annually based solely on their college matriculation exam scores.
Bayinnaung Market
Bayinnaung Market (or Bayintnaung Market), located in northwestern Yangon, is the largest agricultural commodities trading market in Myanmar. Established in 1990, the market complex consists of two-story shop houses with floor areas of 1200 and 2,400 square feet . It is the only legally permitted wholesale center of beans and pulses in the country, which exported 1.34 million tonnes of beans and pulses in 2007 for a total value of US$750 million.
Kaba Aye Pagoda
Kaba Aye Pagoda (also spelt Gaba Aye Pagoda; lit. World Peace Pagoda), formally Thiri Mingala Gaba Aye Zedidaw (သီရိမင်္ဂလာကမ္ဘာအေးစေတီတော်), is a pagoda located on Kaba Aye Road, Mayangon Township, Yangon, Myanmar. The pagoda was built in 1952 by U Nu in preparation for the Sixth Buddhist Council that he held from 1954-1956. The pagoda measures 111 feet high and is also 111 feet around the base. The pagoda is located approximately 11 km north of Yangon, a little past the Inya Lake Hotel.
State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee
The State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee (Burmese: နိုင်ငံတော် သံဃာ့မဟာနာယကအဖွဲ့, abbreviated Mahana or မဟန in Burmese) is a government-appointed body of high-ranking Buddhist monks that oversees and regulates the Sangha (Buddhist clergy) in Burma (Myanmar).
