Ulan Bator

Ulan Bator /ˌuːlɑːn ˈbɑːtər/, or Ulaanbaatar, is the capital and the largest city of Mongolia. An independent municipality, the city is not part of any province, and its population as of 2008 is over one million. Located in north central Mongolia, the city lies at an elevation of about 1,310 metres in a valley on the Tuul River. It is the cultural, industrial, and financial heart of the country.

Sükhbaatar's Mausoleum

Sükhbaatar's Mausoleum was a mausoleum for Damdin Sükhbaatar, leader of Mongolia's 1921 revolution, and Khorloogiin Choibalsan, head of Mongolia's government from the late 1930s to his death in 1952, in Mongolia's capital Ulaanbaatar, on the northern side of Sükhbaatar Square in front of the Saaral Ordon. The building was erected after Choibalsan's death, and removed in 2005 to make place for a hall dedicated to Genghis Khan.

National Sports Stadium (Mongolia)

National Sports Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. It is currently used mostly for football matches and has a capacity 20,000. The Naadam festival, which celebrates Mongolian independence, is held there every July. The stadium was established in 1958 by Russian construction in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. Since then, it has not been majorly renovated at any point, although it gets a little painting and touch up once a year.

Bayangol (Mongolian: Баянгол. rich river) is one of nine Düüregs (districts) of the Mongolian capital Ulaanbaatar. It is divided into 20 Khoroos (subdistricts). Gandantegchinlen Monastery

The Gandantegchinlen Monastery, is a Tibetan-style monastery in the Mongolian capital of Ulaanbaatar that has been restored and revitalized since 1990. The Tibetan name translates to the "Great Place of Complete Joy. " It currently has over 150 monks in residence. It features a 26.5-meter-high statue of Migjid Janraisig, a Buddhist bodhisattva also known as Avalokitesvara. It came under state protection in 1994.

National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet of Mongolia

The National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet of Mongolia (colloquially called Ulaanbaatar Opera House) opened on 15 May 1963 and made its opening ceremony on 18 May 1963 with Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin. Sükhbaatar Square

Sükhbaatar Square (Mongolian: Сүхбаатарын талбай, pronounced Sükhbaatariin Talbai) is the central square of Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. Artificial Lake Castle

The Artificial Lake Castle was built in 1969, when the National Amusement Park was established in the centre of the Mongolian capital Ulaanbaatar. It is surrounded by an artificial lake and fortress walls in an eastern-Asian style. Inside the walls is a three-storey building. There are three watch towers. Since its establishment, an Ethnographic Museum operated in it until the mid-2000s. The castle has been rebuilt from 2010 assuming an appearance of a Western castle.

Manjusri Monastery

Urgoo (cinema)

Urgoo or Urguu is a cinema in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, one of the main movie theaters in the country. The cinema was first founded in 1987 by Mosproekt of the Soviet Union.
