Tijuana is the largest city on the Baja California Peninsula and center of the Tijuana metropolitan area, part of the international San Diego–Tijuana metropolitan area. An industrial and financial center of Mexico, Tijuana exerts a strong influence on economics, education, culture, art, and politics. Brown Field Municipal Airport
Brown Field Municipal Airport is located in the Otay Mesa neighborhood of San Diego, California, 13 miles southeast of Downtown San Diego and named in honor of Commander Melville S. Brown, USN, who was killed in an airplane crash in 1936. Its primary runway is 7,972 feet long. Its FAA/IATA airport code of SDM probably comes from "San Diego Municipal". Formerly Naval Auxiliary Air Station Brown Field, it is now a civilian reliever airport and a port of entry from Mexico.

China Airlines Flight 006
China Airlines Flight 006 was a daily non-stop flight departing from Taipei at 16:15 and scheduled to arrive at Los Angeles International Airport at 07:00 local time. On February 19, 1985, it was involved in an aircraft upset accident after the No. 4 engine flamed out. The plane rolled over and plunged 30,000 ft, experiencing high speeds and g-forces (approaching 5g) before the captain was finally able to recover from the rapid dive, and then to divert to San Francisco International Airport.

Estadio de Béisbol Calimax (formerly known as Estadio Nacional de Tijuana) is a professional baseball stadium located in Tijuana, Baja California, in Mexico with a capacity of 18,500, all seated. It was built in 1976 and is named after a supermarket chain based in Baja California. It was expanded in 2006 to its current capacity. In the past it has also been the site of several lower division football clubs in the Mexican League System such as Inter de Tijuana and Chivas Tijuana.
Mexican Federal Highway 1
Mexican Federal Highway (carretera federal) No. 1 follows the length of the Baja California Peninsula from Cabo San Lucas, at the southern end to Tijuana in the north. The road turns into Interstate 5 at the international border with the United States south of San Ysidro, California. Highway 1 is often called the Carretera Transpeninsular or Transpeninsular Highway and runs a length of 1,711 km from Tijuana to Cabo San Lucas. Most of its length is two lanes. Construction was completed in 1973.

The prison is situated on a mesa about 1.5 miles from the Mexico – United States border.
Rancho Janal
Rancho Janal was a 4,437-acre Mexican land grant in present day San Diego County, California given in 1829 by Governor José María de Echeandía to José Antonio Estudillo. The grant was located near present day Otay Mesa. A large portion of the grant is now covered by the waters of the Upper and Lower Otay Reservoirs. Rancho Janal and the adjoining Rancho Otay were granted to members of the Estudillo family, and they are often considered as one rancho.
Rancho Otay
Rancho Otay was a 6,658-acre Mexican land grant in present day San Diego County, California given in 1846 by Governor Pío Pico to Magdelena Estudillo. The grant in the present day Otay Mesa area, extended along the Otay River, just west of Lower Otay Reservoir.
Ocean View Hills, San Diego
Ocean View Hills (sometimes referred to as Ocean Crest) is a residential neighborhood in the southern section of San Diego. It borders Interstate 805 to the west and California State Route 905 to the south. It neighbors Otay Mesa to the south and east, Otay Mesa West to the west and Chula Vista to the north. Major thoroughfares include Dennery Road, Otay Mesa Road and Ocean View Hills Parkway.

Otay Mesa Port of Entry
The Otay Mesa Port of Entry is one three ports of entry in the San Diego–Tijuana metropolitan region. The facility was opened in 1983, and was constructed primarily to divert growing commercial truck traffic from the busy San Ysidro Port of Entry. Since then, significant passenger vehicle and pedestrian traffic has grown as development in the area around the crossing has grown. Commercial importations through Otay Mesa accounts for billions of dollars worth in freight.
Tijuana Country Club
The Tijuana Country Club is a country club located in Tijuana. The Country Club was the site of the historic Agua Caliente Open and Tijuana Open Invitational, former golf tournaments on the PGA Tour. The championship level golf course is located in the Rio Zone of the city and is termed an oasis in the city, for its location in the metropolis that is Tijuana.
