Mess (river)
The Mess is a river flowing through Luxembourg, joining the Alzette at Lameschmillen, near Bergem. It flows through the towns of Reckange-sur-Mess and Pontpierre.
Bergem
Bergem is a town in the commune of Mondercange, in south-western Luxembourg. As of 2005, the town has a population of 1,474. Nearby at Lameschmillen is the confluence of the Alzette and the Mess. In the Middle Ages it belonged to the de Mercy family, together with the aforementioned mill and the castle at nearby Mittental.
Lameschmillen
Lameschmillen, also known as the Bergemer Mühle, is located halfway between Bergem and Noertzange, at the confluence of the rivers Alzette and Mess. It is one of three watermills in Luxembourg with the same name. It marks the southern limit of the Dumontshaff Project at Dumontshaff/Dumontshof which converted a stretch of the upper Alzette into a nature reserve. The area is rich in wildlife, especially waterbirds.
Noertzange
Noertzange is a small town in the commune of Bettembourg, in southern Luxembourg. In 2005, the town had a population of 961. Noertzange is the site of a railway junction, with Line 10 dividing between the main line, which leads to Niederkorn, and a branch line, which leads to Rumelange. Noertzange railway station is the last station within Luxembourg City's short-distance fare zone.
Huncherange
Huncherange is a small town in the commune of Bettembourg, in southern Luxembourg. As of 2005, the town has a population of 591. There is a watermill there, formerly the site of an old castle. According to a story recorded in the nineteenth century, the place is haunted by two women in white.

Mont St. Jean, Luxembourg
Mont St. Jean is a hill, castle, and religious site in the commune of Dudelange, in southern Luxembourg. The summit is at 417 metres . Mont St. Jean has probably been a point of religious interest since pre-Christian times. The annual pilgrimage to St. John's Chapel, on the summit, on St. John's Eve (23 June) was accompanied in the Middle Ages by ecstatic dancing. The ritualistic dance, a surviving example of which is found at Echternach, was supposedly performed to ward off St.
Noertzange railway station
Noertzange railway station is a railway station serving Noertzange, in southern Luxembourg. It is operated by Chemins de Fer Luxembourgeois, the state-owned railway company. The station is situated on Line 60, which connects Luxembourg City to the Red Lands of the south of the country. After Noertzange, the main line continues towards Niederkorn, whilst a branch line leads towards Rumelange, to the south, via Kayl.
