Saeima
The Saeima is the parliament of the Republic of Latvia. It is a unicameral parliament consisting of 100 members who are elected by proportional representation, with seats allocated to political parties which gain at least 5% of the popular vote. Elections are scheduled to be held once every four years, normally on the first Saturday of October. The most recent elections were held in September 2011. The President of Latvia can dismiss the Saeima and request early elections.

Riga Castle
Riga Castle is a castle on the banks of River Daugava in Riga, the capital of Latvia. The castle was founded in 1330. This structure was thoroughly rebuilt between 1497 and 1515. Upon the castle's seizure by the Swedes, they constructed spacious annexes in 1641. The fortress was continually augmented and reconstructed between the 17th and 19th centuries. Sometime in the 1930s, some renovation work was done by architect Eižens Laube.
Latvian National Theatre
The Latvian National Theatre (Latvian: Latvijas Nacionālais teātris) is the national theatre of Latvia in Riga. The theatre was built between 1899-1902 by the design of architect Augusts Reinbergs, becoming Riga's second (Russian) theatre. It closed during the First World War; on 18 November 1918, Latvia's independence was declared in the theatre building. In 1917 the first shows in Latvian were held in the theatre.
Skonto Hall
Skonto Hall (also Skonto Arena) is an arena in Riga, Latvia. It is primarily used for different exhibitions. Skonto Hall holds 6,500 people and was renovated in 2006, so that it could be used as one of the venues for the 2006 Men's World Ice Hockey Championships. The hall also played host to the 2003 Eurovision Song Contest.

Andrejsala
Andrejsala is a district of Riga, Latvia, located within the former territory of an industrial port next to the city center. It is currently developed into a significant art, culture and entertainment center featuring exhibition halls, clubs, workshops, studios, a cafe and a hotel. The plans for future development of the area are in the works as of June, 2007. Buildings without heritage value in Andrejsala will be demolished and in their place new buildings will be built.
