Grand Canal (Venice)
The Grand Canal is a canal in Venice, Italy. It forms one of the major water-traffic corridors in the city. Public transport is provided by water buses and private water taxis, and many tourists explore the canal by gondola. At one end, the canal leads into the lagoon near the Santa Lucia railway station and the other end leads into Saint Mark Basin; in between, it makes a large S-shape through the central districts of Venice.
San Polo (church)
The Chiesa di San Polo is a Catholic church in Venice, dedicated to the Apostle Paul. It gives its name to the San Polo sestiere of the city. The current Gothic church dates from the 15th century, but a church has stood on the site since the 9th century and the south doorway, possibly by Bartolomeo Bon, survives from this church. The detached campanile was built in 1362. The interior has a ship's keel roof and was restored in 1804 by Davide Rossi.
San Giacomo dell'Orio
The Chiesa di San Giacomo dall'Orio (or San Giacomo Apostolo - St James the Apostle) is a church located in the sestiere (quarter) of Santa Croce in Venice, northern Italy. The origin of the church's name is unknown. Possibilities include being named after a laurel (lauro) that once stood nearby, a version of dal Rio ("of the river"), or once standing on an area of dried-up swamp (luprio). It was founded in the 9th century and rebuilt in 1225. The campanile dates from this period.
San Polo
San Polo is the smallest of the six sestieri of Venice, northern Italy, covering 86 acres (35 hectares) along the Grand Canal. It is one of the oldest parts of the city, having been settled before the ninth century, when it and San Marco formed part of the Realtine Islands. The sestiere is named for the Church of San Polo.
Campo San Polo
The Campo San Polo is the largest campo in Venice, Italy, the second largest Venetian public square after the Piazza San Marco. Originally dedicated to grazing and agriculture, in 1493 it was entirely paved, a well (one of the few fountains to be found in Venice) being placed in the middle. It was subsequently used as the scene of many a bullfight, mass sermons and masked balls. After the 17th century the poor's market was moved here from Piazza San Marco.
Ca' Pesaro
The Ca' Pesaro is a Baroque marble palace facing the Grand Canal of Venice, Italy. Originally designed by Baldassarre Longhena in mid-17th century, the construction was completed by Gian Antonio Gaspari in 1710. As at his Ca' Rezzonico, a double order of colossal columns and colonnettes flanking arch-headed windows, reinterpreting a motif of Jacopo Sansovino, Longhena creates the impression of double loggias extending across the main Grand Canal frontage, above a boldly rusticated basement.
San Giovanni Elemosinario
San Giovanni Elemosinario is a church of Venice, northern Italy, dedicated to Saint John the Almsgiver. This church was founded in 1071, and was completely destroyed by the disastrous Rialto fire in 1514. The church was rebuilt by Antonio Abbondi called Scarpagnino. The painter Antonio Vassilacchi worked here in the 16th century.
Ponte delle Tette
Ponte delle Tette is a small bridge in Venice, Italy. It takes its name ("Bridge of the Tits") from the use of the bridge by prostitutes, who were encouraged to stand topless there to entice and convert suspected homosexuals. The Carampane di Rialto was one of the red-light districts of Venice in the fifteenth century, by official decree. Sex workers there would open their legs wide or display their breasts from nearby balconies to attract business.
Palazzo Grimani di San Luca
The Palazzo Grimani di San Luca is a Renaissance building in Venice, Italy. It is located on the Rio di San Luca channel of the city, at the point in which it flows into the Canal Grande. The palace was built in the mid-16th century for procurator Gerolamo Grimani by architect Michele Sanmicheli, and completed after his death by Gian Giacomo de' Grigi, known as "il Bergamasco". It has a classicist plan with a central atrium.

Palazzo Tiepolo Passi is a palace in Venice, Italy, located in the San Polo sestiere. Built in the 16th century, it has traces of frescoes by Andrea Schiavone. It is now a hotel.
San Stae
San Stae is a church in central Venice, in the sestiere of Santa Croce. San Stae, an abbreviation for Saint Eustachius, was founded at the beginning of 11th century and reconstructed in 17th century, has a main facade (1709) on the Grand Canal of Venice, constructed by Domenico Rossi, and richly decorated with statuary by Giuseppe Torretto, Antonio Tarsia, Pietro Baratta, and Antonio Corradini. The interior has a tomb for the Mocenigo family.
San Silvestro, Venice
San Silvestro is a church building in the sestiere of San Polo of Venice, northern Italy. The church is located in the business district of Rialto. Originally, in the 12th century, it was under the jurisdiction of the Patriarch of Grado. After rebuilding, it was reconsecrated in 1422, and in 1485 it merged with the Oratory of Santa Maria dei Patriarchi e di Ognissanti. The church was entirely rebuilt by 1843, using designs by Giovanni Meduna.
San Cassiano (Venice)
San Cassiano (English: Church of Saint Cassian) is a 14th century Roman Catholic church located in the San Polo sestiere of the Italian city of Venice. A church has stood on the site since 726 with the present building dedicated to Saint Cassian of Imola being consecrated in 1376 and re-modelled during the 17th century. It has a plain exterior with several adjacent buildings overlapping it.

Palazzo Belloni Battagia
Palazzo Belloni Battagia (also spelled Palazzo Belloni Battaglia) is a palace on the Canal Grande, Venice, northern Italy. It is included in the sestiere (quarter) of Santa Croce, between the Fondaco del Megio and Ca' Tron, near the church of San Stae. It was built in the mid-17th century under design by Baldassarre Longhena, as the residence of the Belloni family.
Fondaco del Megio
The Fondaco del Megio is a palace in the sestiere (quarter]) of Santa Croce in Venice, northern Italy. Located near the Palazzo Belloni Battagia and the Fondaco dei Turchi, it faces the Canal Grande and is opposed to the church of San Marcuola of Cannaregio. It was built in the 13th century as a grain depot, but later was used to store millet, maintaining this function until the fall of the Republic of Venice in 1797. It currently houses an elementary school. The palace is build in brickwork.

Part of the sestiere (quarter) of Santa Croce, it is situated between the Palazzo Belloni Battagia and Palazzo Duodo, near the church of San Stae. It is owned by the University Iuav of Venice and houses the Faculty of Territorial Planning.
Ca' Farsetti
Ca' Farsetti is a palace in Venice, northern Italy. It is located in the sestiere (district) of San Marco, and faces the Canal Grande, not far from the Ponte di Rialto. It was built in the 13th century by the heirs of doge Enrico Dandolo, initially with two floors. Federigo Contarini, who bought it in 1440, added two further floors. It was acquired around 1670 by the Farsetti family, who established here an academy in the 18th century.

The Palazzi Mocenigo consist of the following complex of palazzos on the Grand Canal in Venice, Italy: Palazzo Mocenigo Casa Nuova Palazzo Mocenigo Casa Vecchia Palazzo Mocenigo detto "il Nero" The palazzos are named after the Mocenigo family, seven of whom were Doges of Venice. The English poet Lord Byron (1788–1824) stay here when he lived in Venice from 1818.
Palazzo Corner Spinelli
The Palazzo Corner Spinelli is a palace in Venice, northern Italy, located on the Grand Canal, in the sestiere of San Marco. It stands across the canal from the Palazzo Querini Dubois. The palace was commissioned in the late 15th century by the aristocratic Lando Family, and built on designs by Mauro Codussi. The present facade, helps introduce Renaissance geometric style to Venice for its day, was designed by Codussi between 1497 and 1500; compare it with Codussi's Ca' Vendramin Calergi.
San Tomà, Venice
San Tomà (San Toma) is a former church located in the sestiere of San Polo in Venice, Italy. It stands near the Scoletta dei Calegheri. The church is named after San Tommaso Apostolo. A church on the site dates back to the tenth century, the present orientation was set in 1395, and the exterior and much of the interior decorations are due to reconstructions in the 16th and 17th centuries.
Santa Maria Mater Domini
Santa Maria Mater Domini is a Renaissance style church in the sestiere of Santa Croce in Venice, Italy. A church at the site dates from the tenth century. The architect of the interior is not entirely certain: Pietro Lombardo, Mauro Codussi, and Giovanni Buora are mentioned. The facade is attributed to Jacopo Sansovino. It contains an altar by an unknown Lombard artist of the 15th century.
San Luca, Venice
The church of San Luca Evangelista is a church in the sestiere of San Marco in Venice, Italy. A parrochial church stood at the site since the 11th century, patronized by the patrician Dandolo and Pizzamano families. Restored over the centuries, it underwent major reconstruction in the early 1600s, and it was reconsecrated in 1617 The facade is simple, but the interior has a more rich decoration. The walls and the ceiling were frescoed by Sebastiano Santi.
