Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the northernmost of the six historic sestieri (districts) of Venice. It is the second largest sestiere by land area and the largest by population, with 13,169 people as of 2007. Isola di San Michele, the historic cemetery island, is associated with the district.
Ca' d'Oro
Ca' d'Oro (correctly Palazzo Santa Sofia) is a palace on the Grand Canal in Venice, northern Italy. One of the older palazzi, it has always been known as Ca' d'Oro (golden house) due to the gilt and polychrome external decorations which once adorned its walls. The Palazzo was built between 1428 and 1430 for the Contarini family, who provided Venice with eight Doges between 1043 and 1676. Upon election, each new Doge would leave his own palazzo and take residence in the Doge's Palace.

Ca' Pesaro
The Ca' Pesaro is a Baroque marble palace facing the Grand Canal of Venice, Italy. Originally designed by Baldassarre Longhena in mid-17th century, the construction was completed by Gian Antonio Gaspari in 1710. As at his Ca' Rezzonico, a double order of colossal columns and colonnettes flanking arch-headed windows, reinterpreting a motif of Jacopo Sansovino, Longhena creates the impression of double loggias extending across the main Grand Canal frontage, above a boldly rusticated basement.

San Giovanni Elemosinario is a church of Venice, northern Italy, dedicated to Saint John the Almsgiver. This church was founded in 1071, and was completely destroyed by the disastrous Rialto fire in 1514. The church was rebuilt by Antonio Abbondi called Scarpagnino. The painter Antonio Vassilacchi worked here in the 16th century.

Ponte delle Tette is a small bridge in Venice, Italy. It takes its name ("Bridge of the Tits") from the use of the bridge by prostitutes, who were encouraged to stand topless there to entice and convert suspected homosexuals. The Carampane di Rialto was one of the red-light districts of Venice in the fifteenth century, by official decree. Sex workers there would open their legs wide or display their breasts from nearby balconies to attract business.
Sant'Alvise
Sant'Alvise is a church in the sestiere of Cannaregio in Venice, northern Italy. According to tradition, it was built by Antonia Venier in 1338 and dedicated to St. Louis of Toulouse, and located next to an adjacent convent. The brick exterior and facade do not reflect the rich interior. It has a single nave, the current appearance dating from the 17th century restoration. The ceiling was entirely frescoed by Pietro Antonio Torri and Pietro Ricchi in the same period.
San Stae
San Stae is a church in central Venice, in the sestiere of Santa Croce. San Stae, an abbreviation for Saint Eustachius, was founded at the beginning of 11th century and reconstructed in 17th century, has a main facade (1709) on the Grand Canal of Venice, constructed by Domenico Rossi, and richly decorated with statuary by Giuseppe Torretto, Antonio Tarsia, Pietro Baratta, and Antonio Corradini. The interior has a tomb for the Mocenigo family.
Abbazia della Misericordia
The Church of the Abbey of Misericordia is a religious edifice in Venice, Italy, in the sestiere Cannaregio. It was founded in the 10th century. The façade was restored in 1659 by the patrician Gaspare Moro. It is decorated by allegoric statues, including a bust of Moro, all work by Clemente Moli. On the right is a 14th century bas-relief depicting the Madonna with Child. The church was in dismaying condition in the 19th century, and was restored until 1864.

La Maddalena is a church in Venice, Italy, in the sestiere of Cannaregio. A religious edifice is known in the site as early as 1222, owned by the Balbo patrician family. When, in the mid-14th century, the Venetian Senate established a public holiday for Mary Magdalene's feast, it was decided to enlarge the church, including a watchtower which was turned into a bell tower.

Other names by which it is known include: Palazzo Vendramin Calergi, Palazzo Loredan Vendramin Calergi, and Palazzo Loredan Griman Calergi Vendramin. The architecturally distinguished building was the home of many prominent people through history, and is remembered as the place where composer Richard Wagner died.

The present building is the result of a major reconstruction project which was undertaken in 1575.
San Cassiano (Venice)
San Cassiano (English: Church of Saint Cassian) is a 14th century Roman Catholic church located in the San Polo sestiere of the Italian city of Venice. A church has stood on the site since 726 with the present building dedicated to Saint Cassian of Imola being consecrated in 1376 and re-modelled during the 17th century. It has a plain exterior with several adjacent buildings overlapping it.

It is included in the sestiere (quarter) of Santa Croce, between the Fondaco del Megio and Ca' Tron, near the church of San Stae. It was built in the mid-17th century under design by Baldassarre Longhena, as the residence of the Belloni family.
Fondaco del Megio
The Fondaco del Megio is a palace in the sestiere (quarter]) of Santa Croce in Venice, northern Italy. Located near the Palazzo Belloni Battagia and the Fondaco dei Turchi, it faces the Canal Grande and is opposed to the church of San Marcuola of Cannaregio. It was built in the 13th century as a grain depot, but later was used to store millet, maintaining this function until the fall of the Republic of Venice in 1797. It currently houses an elementary school. The palace is build in brickwork.

San Felice, Venice
San Felice is a church in Venice, northern Italy, located in the sestiere (district) of Cannaregio. It faces the eponymous campo (square), across the Strada Nova. It was founded in the 10th century, although the first document mentioning it dates to 1117. It was reconsecrated in 1267 by the patriarch of Caorle and Jesolo after it had been deeply renewed. Starting from 1531, it was completely rebuilt in the style of Mauro Codussi.

The church of San Marcuola, a church dedicated the saints Hermagoras and Fortunatus ("Marcuola" is a Venetian contraction of "Ermacora") is a religious building facing the Grand Canal and located in the sestiere of Cannaregio in Venice, Italy. The present church was first erected in the 12th century. Major reconstruction was designed by Antonio Gaspari, and completed in 1730-1736 by Giorgio Massari. The facade was never completed.
San Zan Degola
The church of San Zan Degolà, which in Venetian dialect abbreviates for San Giovanni Decollato, in English St John (the Baptist) beheaded, is an Byzantine-Romanesque style church and belltower in the sestiere of Santa Croce in Venice, Italy. It was built prior to the 11th century, and contains some of its original medieval frescoes. Reconstructions were pursued over the centuries, and funded by noble families of Venice. It is presently the church for Russian Orthodox Services in Venice.
Santa Maria Mater Domini
Santa Maria Mater Domini is a Renaissance style church in the sestiere of Santa Croce in Venice, Italy. A church at the site dates from the tenth century. The architect of the interior is not entirely certain: Pietro Lombardo, Mauro Codussi, and Giovanni Buora are mentioned. The facade is attributed to Jacopo Sansovino. It contains an altar by an unknown Lombard artist of the 15th century.

A wooden church of Sant Sofia in Venice is documented in chronicles from 886 The church dates to initial patronage in the 11th century by the patrician family of the Gussoni. Construction began in 1020. It appears to have survived the great fire of 1105 in Venice.
Santa Fosca, Venice
Santa Fosca is a church in the sestiere of Cannaregio of Venezia, Italy. Adjacent to the Strada Nova, it faces the campo of Santa Fosca. On this campo stands the monument to Paolo Sarpi. Documents attest to a church of this name dating to the 10th century. The present building dates to reconstructions beginning in the 18th century. The facade (1733-1741), designed by Domenico Rossi, was built with the patronage of the patrician Donà family.
