Burano
For the village in central Italy, see Gubbio Burano is an island in the Venetian Lagoon, northern Italy; like Venice itself, it could more correctly be called an archipelago of four islands linked by bridges. It is situated near Torcello at the northern end of the Lagoon, and is known for its lacework and brightly coloured homes.
Mazzorbo
Mazzorbo is an island in the northern Venetian Lagoon, northern Italy, linked to Burano by a bridge. It was once an important trading centre but is now known for its vineyards and orchards. Its main attraction is the fourteenth century Church of Santa Caterina, and there is also a brightly painted housing development, designed in 1979 by Giancarlo De Carlo.
Sant'Erasmo
Sant'Erasmo is an island in the Venetian Lagoon lying north of the Lido and north east of Venice, Italy. The island was a port attached to Murano in the 8th century, but is now known for market gardening. Ruined fortifications, including the so-called Torre Massimiliana (Tower of Maximilian), ring the isle. Forts existed in the island as early as the 16th century. After the fall of the Republic of Venice, the French built here a stronghold in 1811-1814.

Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta
The Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta (Cattedrale di Santa Maria Assunta) is a basilica church on the island of Torcello, Venice, northern Italy. It is a notable example of Venetian-Byzantine architecture, one of the most ancient religious edifices in the Veneto. According to an ancient inscription, it was founded by the exarch Isaac of Ravenna in 639. The original church is believed to have had a nave with one aisle on each side and a single apse on the eastern wall of the cathedral.
San Francesco del Deserto
San Francesco del Deserto is an island in the Venetian Lagoon, with a surface of some 4 ha. It is located between Sant'Erasmo and Burano. It houses a minorites convent.
Vignole
For the comune in the province of Alessandria, see Vignole Borbera Vignole (also Le Vignole) is an island in the Venetian Lagoon, northern Italy, with a surface of some 69.20 ha. It is located north-east to Venice, between the Sant'Erasmo and La Certosa islands. Vignole is actually formed by the two distinct islands, connected by a bridge. Like Sant'Erasmo, it houses a scanty population, most of which work in the agriculture field.
Sant'Andrea (Venetian Lagoon)
Sant'Andrea is a small island in the Venetian Lagoon, northern Italy. It houses the Forte di Sant'Andrea, a large fortress built in the 16th century to defend Venice. Sant'Andrea constitutes a prolongation of the island of Vignole, from which it is separated by a narrow channel, towards the Porto di San Nicolò on the Lido, between Venice's Island and the island of Sant'Erasmo.
