In 2006 it had a population of 589. Planned by Richard Kaufmann, the moshav was founded on 9 April 1935 by immigrants from Germany. It was funded by Jews in Alexandria in Egypt, and was named after Philo of Alexandria (also known as Yedidia).
Bat Hen is a communal settlement in central Israel. Located on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea, it falls under the jurisdiction of Hefer Valley Regional Council. In 2006 it had a population of 547. Founded in 1967, it is named after a flower. For a while it split into two settlements, Bat Hen Alef and Bat Hen Bet, though they later merged back into one.

Lev HaSharon Regional Council is a regional council in the Center District of Israel. The council was established in 1984, unifying Hadar HaSharon and Northern Sharon regional councils, and covers 18 villages with a total area of 57,000 dunams and a population of 13,600.
