The Helix (Dublin)

The Helix is a building on the Dublin City University campus in Dublin/Glasnevin on Dublin's Northside, originally planned to be called the Aula Maxima. It was completed in 2002, and it is described as a "performance space" and holds concerts, university conferring ceremonies and national arts shows. The Helix has three areas for live performances: The Mahony Hall (1260 seats), The Theatre (450 seats), and The Space (150 seats).

Santry (Irish: Seantrabh, meaning "Old tribe") is a suburb on the Northside of Dublin, Ireland, bordering Coolock, Glasnevin and Ballymun. The 2009 European Cross Country Championships was a continental cross country running competition that was held on 13 December 2009 in Dublin, Ireland. Dublin was selected as the host city in 2007 and the event was the first time that a major European athletics championships took place in Ireland. The six men's and women's races in the championship programme took place in Santry Demense on a looped course with flat and grassy ground.
