Garden of Ridván, Baghdad

Haifa Street

Haifa Street (or Hayfa Street) is a two mile long street in Baghdad, Iraq. Along with Yafa Street (named after the port city of Jaffa), it runs southeast to the Assassin's Gate, an archway that served as the main entrance to the American-run Green Zone during the 2003 invasion of Iraq, paralleling the Tigris river. It was named "Haifa" in the 1980s by Saddam Hussein in honor of the port city of Haifa. The street is lined with many high-rise buildings.

Al-Sarafiya bridge

The al-Sarafiya bridge crosses the River Tigris in Baghdad. It was built in the 1940s or 1950sand connected the two northern Baghdad neighborhoods of Waziriyah and Utafiyah. Having been previously damaged by American bombing in 1991, the bridge partially collapsed when an abandoned truck bomb exploded on April 12, 2007 at 0700 local time, UTC+3. At least 10 people were killed and 26 injured, though there were reports of 20 more trapped in cars that had gone off the bridge.

There are nine administrative districts in the city of Baghdad, the capital of Iraq, that correspond to the nine district advisory councils. The Baghdad Security Plan used these nine districts as the nine security districts. These were formed in 2003 following the invasion of Iraq. Al Rasheed Street

Al Rasheed Street or Al Rashid Street is located in Downtown Baghdad and is one of the city's main streets, stretching from North Gate to South Gate. The origin of Al Rasheed Street goes back to the Ottomans who ruled Iraq from 1534 to 1918. During that time, the only known public street in Baghdad was Al Naher Street (Shari al-Naher). Al Naher means River - the street stretches a few kilometers along the east banks of the river Tigris, so this may be the reasoning behind its name.

The structure was first built in the 14th century as a caravanserai, an inn for traveling merchants, whose center was a hall more than 13 metres high. Muthenna Airbase

Muthanna Airbase was an Iraqi military facility west of the center of Baghdad. It consisted of one 3,000 m asphalt/concrete runway sited in a developed industrial/residential area. It was the home base for Iraqi Air Force transport squadrons and navigation school. During the 1991 Gulf War, three of Baghdad's 42 targets—Iraqi Air Force headquarters, Muthanna airfield, and Ba'ath party headquarters—absorbed 20 percent of the effort.
