Zawita
Zawita, is an Iraqi town of about 5,000 people the Dohuk Governorate. The name of the village is thought to come from Syriac ܙܘܝܬܐ meaning "corner". The village is inhabited mainly by Kurds and the second biggest group being the Assyrians. At one point it was home to majority Assyrians, prior to the Simele massacre. A number of Christian-owned businesses in the village were looted and burned downed during the 2011 Dohuk riots.
