Chengalpattu, formerly known as Chingleput, is a suburb of South-west Chennai city and Taluk in Kanchipuram district in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. It is the headquarters of the Chengalpattu taluk of the district and is situated at a distance of 55 kilometres south-west of the state capital, Chennai on the National highway NH 45.
