Þórshöfn Airport is an airport located in Þórshöfn, a village in northeast Iceland. It is also referred to as Thorshofn Airport in many English-language sources. Þórshöfn Airport was previously located about 4.8 km to the northeast, at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:66|15|07|N|15|16|23|W|type:airport_region:IS | |name=Former location of Þórshöfn Airport }}, near Sauðanes, and had the ICAO code BITH (but the same IATA code – THO).

Langanes
Langanes is a peninsula in northeast Iceland. The name literally means "long peak". It is 40 kilometres long from southwest to northeast, ending in a thin strip of land called Fontur. It is bounded by Þistilfjörður to the northwest and Bakkaflói to the southeast, while the terrain inland reaches elevations of 200–400 metres (600–1200 feet). The highest point is Gunnólfsvíkurfjall in the southeast of the peninsula.

Svalbarðshreppur is a municipality in northeastern Iceland, between Norðurþing and Langanesbyggð. As of 1 January 2011, it had a total population of 106 and a population density of 0.1 per square kilometre. The total area was 1,155 km². The municipality is administered from Þórshöfn in the neighbouring Langanesbyggð municipality. The area is known for their salmon rivers.
