Îles des Saintes
The Îles des Saintes ("Islands of the Saints"), also known as Les Saintes, is a small archipelago of the French Antilles located to the south of Basse-Terre Island, west of Marie-Galante and north of Dominica. It is a dependency of Guadeloupe, which, in turn, is an overseas department and region of France.
Fort Napoléon des Saintes
Fort Napoléon is located on Terre-de-Haut Island, in the Îles des Saintes, Guadeloupe. Built on the morne called Mire, it was originally named Fort Louis. It was destroyed by British forces in 1809. It is located unless 15 m of the beach of Pompierre in the northeast of Terre-de-Haut Island and measures 100 m in its length for 20 m in its width. It closes the bay of Pompierre and offers only two passages towards the Atlantic ocean, called Grande Passe and Petite Passe.
