Syntagma metro station

The Syntagma station of Attiko Metro is located at Syntagma Square in the centre of Athens, Greece. It serves as a transfer point to the Blue Line (Line 3) with the Red Line (Line 2). It also serves as a connection point to the Athens Tram. When the Metro first opened, the station was the terminal station for both the new lines. It is a transportation hub for E. TH.E.L. buses, for the Tram as well as for taxi. It has the most passengers of all the Athens Metro Stations.

Voukourestiou Street named after the Treaty of Bucharest, which in 1913 ended the second Balkan War, is a rather narrow street in the Kolonaki district of Athens known for its high-end boutiques. Starting in the 1950s, this street was the street for hip and trendy European and American goods in the Greek capital as well as gold and jewellery shops. Running from Panepistimiou Street to the slope of Mt. Lycabettus, the street epitomized fancy shopping in Greece for generations.

Metropolitan Cathedral of Athens

The Metropolitan Cathedral of the Annunciation (Greek: Καθεδρικός Ναός Ευαγγελισμού της Θεοτόκου) popularly known as the "Mētrópolis", is the cathedral church of the Archbishop of Athens and all Greece. Construction of the Cathedral began on Christmas Day, 1842 with the laying of the cornerstone by King Otto and Queen Amalia. Workers used marble from 72 demolished churches to build the Cathedral's immense walls. Three architects and 20 years later, it was complete.

Old Royal Palace

The Old Royal Palace is the former royal palace in Athens, Greece. The palace faces onto the Syntagma Square and now houses the Hellenic Parliament. The palace was designed by Friedrich von Gärtner for King Óthon of Greece and was completed in 1843. As it served originally as a palace for the Greek monarchs, it is sometimes still referred to as the "Old Palace". After suffering fire damage in 1909, it entered a long period of renovation.
