Leipzig Zoological Garden

Pleissenburg

The Pleissenburg was a historical building in the city of Leipzig in Saxony which is in modern-day Germany. It was built in the 13th Century by the Margrave Dietrick and named after the river Pleisse which runs nearby. Luna Park, Leipzig

Luna Park was an amusement park near Leipzig, Germany that existed from 1912 to 1932. It was built around the Auensee lake, a former gravel pit. The park featured a scenic railroad ride, a hippodrome, a dance hall, restaurants, and a public beach. Immensely popular prior to the onset of World War I, Luna Park's fortunes waned in the latter 1920s and early 1930s as the effects of the Great Depression encircled the world. The park ceased operating as a commercial enterprise on January 13, 1932.

Leipzig City Tunnel

The City Tunnel is a railway tunnel under construction for the city-centre S-Bahn in Leipzig with two tunnels with one track in each direction. It will link the Central Station with the two km distant Bayerischer Bahnhof (which is closed for the construction period). Construction began in July 2003. In March 2008, the first tube was structurally completed, the second in October 2008. The tunnel for the trains should be ready for the timetable change in December 2013.
