Leipzig Bayerischer Bahnhof

The Bayerischer Bahnhof (Bavarian station) in Leipzig is Germany's oldest preserved railway station. It was built in 1842 for the Leipzig–Hof line by the Saxon-Bavarian Railway Company, later taken over by the Royal Saxon State Railways (Königlich Sächsische Staatseisenbahnen) and operated as the Saxon-Bavarian State Railways (Sächsisch-Bayerische Staatseisenbahn). Monument to the Battle of the Nations

The Monument to the Battle of the Nations is a monument in Leipzig, Germany to the 1813 Battle of Leipzig, also known as the Battle of the Nations. Bruno-Plache-Stadion

Bruno-Plache-Stadion is a multi-use stadium in Leipzig, Germany. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of Lokomotive Leipzig. The Fans are only called it "das Bruno" (the Bruno). The stadium has a capacity of 15,600 people, but it is only accredited for 7,000 people at the moment. It was built in 1922. When it was opened, it was the largest stadium owned by a club in Germany, with a proposed capacity of over 40,000 people.

Reichsgericht

The Reichsgericht (Imperial Court of Justice) was the supreme criminal and civil court in the Deutsches Reich from 1879 to 1945. It was based in Leipzig, Germany. Cospudener See

The Cospudener See (sometimes translated as Cospuden Lake) is a lake situated south of Leipzig. It is on the site of a former open cast mine. The lake has become highly popular with the local population, with long stretches of sand beaches (some clothing-optional, following the East German tradition of public nude bathing) and with a sauna directly located at the lake. There is also a small sailing harbour.

Pleissenburg

The Pleissenburg was a historical building in the city of Leipzig in Saxony which is in modern-day Germany. It was built in the 13th Century by the Margrave Dietrick and named after the river Pleisse which runs nearby. Martin Luther gave the first evangelical sermon in the castle chapel on Pentecost Sunday in 1519. After heavy damage during the siege in the Schmalkaldic War in 1547, the Elector Maurice of Saxony built a fortification with moats.

Markkleeberger See

Markkleeberger See is a lake in Saxony, Germany, next to Markkleeberg, a suburb on the south side of Leipzig. At an elevation of 112.5 m, its surface area is 2.52 km². It is a former open-pit coal mine, flooded in 1999 with groundwater and developed in 2006 as a tourist area. On its southeastern shore is Germany's only pump-powered artificial whitewater slalom course, the Kanupark Markkleeberg.

Leipzig Panometer
