Düssel
The Düssel is a small right tributary of the River Rhine in North Rhine Westphalia, Germany. Its source is between Wülfrath and Velbert. It flows westward through the Neander Valley where the fossils of the first Neanderthal man were found in 1856. At Düsseldorf it forms a river delta by splitting into four streams (Nördliche Düssel, Südliche Düssel, Kittelbach, Brückerbach), which all join the Rhine after a few kilometers.
Düsseldorf-Oberkassel
Oberkassel is a quartier of Düsseldorf, with a population of about 17,000 inhabitants. Oberkassel lies on the left side of the river Rhine, the opposite side of the central district of Düsseldorf. Oberkassel is an economically well-situated borough with more than 17,000 inhabitants and an unemployment rate below 5%. Nearly the half of the households in Oberkassel are single households. The average age is about 45 years.
Düsseldorf-Hamm
Hamm is an urban borough of Düsseldorf. To separate it from the Westphalian City Hamm, locals often call it Kappes-Hamm (Kappes is the word for kale in the local dialect). Hamm is located on the River Rhine, neighboring to the boroughs Bilk, Volmerswerth, and the central harbour of Düsseldorf. It has about 3,700 inhabitants and is one of the smallest boroughs of Düsseldorf.
Düsseldorf-Hafen
Düsseldorf-Hafen means the harbour of Düsseldorf. More than that, Hafen is the name of the Düsseldorf district in which the harbour is located. The borough covers 3.85 km, but there were only 212 inhabitants in the year 2000. With 55 inhabitants per km², this is the thinnest density of population in Düsseldorf. For decades the harbour has been an area of workers, industry and trade.
District 4, Düsseldorf
District 4 is a city district of Düsseldorf, the state capital of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It covers an area of 12,80 square kilometres and (as of December 2009) has about 40,000 inhabitants. District 4 is the city's only left-Rhenish district and its quarters are popular residential areas. Across the river, it shares borders with Düsseldorf districts 5, 1 and 3. West and South-west, the district is bordered by Rhein-Kreis Neuss and the city of Neuss.
Neuer Zollhof
Neuer Zollhof or Der Neue Zollhof (The New Zollhof), located at Neuer Zollhof 2-6, Unterbilk, is a prominent landmark of Media Harbor, part of the redeveloped port of Düsseldorf, Germany. The building complex consisting of three separate buildings, was designed by American architect Frank O. Gehry and completed in 1998. Floorplans and facades of all three buildings curve and lean, reason for them being likened to leaning towers. The tallest building is 14 stories high and just under 50 m tall.
Düsseldorf-Hamm station
Düsseldorf-Hamm station is about 5 kilometres southwest of Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof in the Düsseldorf district of Hamm in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. It is on the Mönchengladbach–Düsseldorf railway and it is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 5 station. The station opened on 29 May 1988. Apart from Rhine-Ruhr S-Bahn services it is served by a tram line and a bus line.
Neuss Rheinpark-Center station
Neuss Rheinpark-Center station is in the city of Neuss in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. It is located in the Neuss Rheinpark Center business park and shopping centre. It is on the Mönchengladbach–Düsseldorf railway and it is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 5 station. The station opened on 29 May 1988 on the new line built with the Hamm railway bridge opened by the Bergisch-Märkische Railway Company on 24 July 1870.
