Hakaniemi
Hakaniemi is an unofficial district of Helsinki, the Finnish capital. It is considered a part of the Helsinki city center. Historically, it was often associated with the working class and worker's associations. However, the cost of living has risen considerably in recent years and is now on par with the rest of the downtown area of Helsinki.
Academy of Fine Arts, Helsinki
The Finnish Academy of Fine Arts in Helsinki, Finland provides the highest university-level theoretical and practical training in the country in fine arts. The Academy was founded in 1848 by a private foundation called The Art Society of Finland (or Finnish Art Society, or Finnish Art Association) . Back then the academy was called a Drawing School. In 1939 it became The Finnish Art Academy School . In 1985 it became The Academy of Fine Arts.
Kallio
Kallio is a district and a neighbourhood in Helsinki, the capital of Finland, located on the eastern side of the Helsinki peninsula about one kilometere north from the city centre. It is one of the most densely populated areas in Finland. Kallio is separated from the city centre by the Siltasaarensalmi strait, over which is a bridge called Pitkäsilta ("long bridge"). Traditionally, the bridge marks the symbolic divide between the bourgeois centre and the more working class areas around Kallio.
Hakaniemi metro station
Hakaniemi or Hagnäs is a station on the Helsinki Metro. It serves the central Helsinki districts of Hakaniemi and Kallio. The station was among the first metro stations opened in Helsinki, on 1 June 1982, and was designed by Mirja Castrén, Juhani Jauhiainen, and Marja Nuuttila. It is located 0.9 kilometres from the Kaisaniemi metro station, and 0.9 kilometres from the Sörnäinen metro station. The station is situated at a depth of 23 metres below ground level.
Sörnäinen metro station
Sörnäinen or Sörnäs is a station on the Helsinki Metro. It serves the central Helsinki districts of Sörnäinen and Kallio. When heading east, Sörnäinen is the last station that is actually underground - the eastern part of the metro service is mostly above ground (part of Vuosaari line is also underground) The station was opened on 1 September 1984, designed by Jouko Kontio and Seppo Kilpiä.

Sörnäinen is a neighbourhood in the city of Helsinki, Finland. Sörnäinen is located a little more than one kilometre north from the coastal centre of Helsinki, near the district of Hakaniemi. The east side of Sörnäinen borders the sea. Sörnäinen is primarily an industrial district, with many shipping companies and warehouses. It also has two metro stations within it; Sörnäinen metro station and Kalasatama metro station.
Merihaka
Merihaka is a seashore residential area in central Helsinki, Finland consisting of large high-rise concrete housing blocks. It is located by the Baltic Sea next to districts of Hakaniemi, Kallio and Sörnäinen. It is known for its tall, grey buildings that some find gloomy. The residents of Merihaka tend to value highly the scenery, central location, tranquil atmosphere and lack of cars.
Kumpula Campus
The Kumpula Campus is a science campus of University of Helsinki. The campus is located some four kilometres from the centre of Helsinki, in the Kumpula district. Completed in 2005, it currently provides study and research facilities for about 6,000 students and 1,000 teachers/researchers.
Vallila
Vallila is a neighbourhood in Helsinki, the capital of Finland. Vallila is a central-northern neighbourhood, bordered by Pasila to the west and Alppiharju to the south. Alppila is a quarter of Helsinki, Finland. It is located north of the city centre, between the districts of Kallio and Pasila, and together with Harju it forms the district of Alppiharju. Alppila has a population of 4244 (as of 2005) and an area of 0.60 km². The Linnanmäki amusement park is located in Alppila.
Vuoristorata
Vuoristorata is a roller coaster in the Finnish amusement park Linnanmäki. It opened on July 13, 1951 and was designed as a temporary attraction for the Linnanmäki park, opened in 1950. One of the main reasons for its construction was to attract tourists of the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki. Since then, its temporary status was renewed for extended periods, until eventually it was regarded as a permanent structure.

Kumpula
Kumpula is a verdant neighbourhood in Helsinki, bordered by Eastern Pasila to the west, Vallila to the south, Käpylä and Koskela to the north and Toukola and Arabianranta to the east. As of January 1, 2003, Kumpula had approximately 3,600 inhabitants. Kumpula is also home to the Kumpula Outdoor Swimming Pool, which was built for the 1952 Summer Olympics. Kumpula also has a lot of wooden single-family houses built between the wars and apartment buildings built midway through the 1980s.
Kumpula Outdoor Swimming Pool
The Kumpula Outdoor Swimming Pool is an outdoor swimming pool located in Kumpula, Helsinki. The swimming pool was built as a practice pool for the 1952 Summer Olympics and it is Finland’s third oldest outdoor swimming pool. In 2005, the swimming pool was restored to its original appearance while the saunas and dressing rooms were modernized at the same time.

Dynamicum is the name of a building on the Kumpula Campus of the University of Helsinki that is shared by the Finnish Meteorological Institute and the Finnish Institute of Marine Research. Dynamicum is located in Kumpula, Helsinki. Kumpula Allotment Garden
The Kumpula Allotment Garden, located at Kalervonkatu 1a in Kumpula and established in 1927, is the second oldest allotment garden in Helsinki, Finland. The garden has 268 allotments with an average size of 300 m. This area is culturally and historically valuable. From May 1 to September 15, the garden is open to the public from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. The allotments themselves, however, are the private property of the garden's members. The garden area is run by Kumpulan Siirtolapuutarhayhdistys r.

It provides education in performing arts, including acting (in Finnish and in Swedish), directing, dramaturgy and script writing, dance, choreography, lighting design and sound design. Helsinki Velodrome
The Helsinki Velodrome is an outdoor velodrome and football stadium in Helsinki, Finland. It was built in 1938–1940 for the 1940 Summer Olympics which were cancelled due to World War II. After the war, it was a venue of the 1952 Summer Olympics for the track cycling and field hockey events. The protected functionalist concrete building was designed by Hilding Ekelund. The track is 400 meters in length and is used for most national events. American football and lacrosse is played on the infield.

Harju is a quarter of Helsinki, Finland. It is located northeast from the city centre, part of Alppiharju neighbourhood, between the quarters of Alppila, Torkkelinmäki, Linjat and neighbourhoods Sörnäinen and Vallila. Harju has a population of 7,237 (as of 1 January 2005) and an area of 0.27 km². Harju has the highest population density per km² in Finland, along with the neighboring Torkkelinmäki quarter. Apartments in Harju are usually very small, single-person flats.
