Suomenlinna
Suomenlinna, until 1918 Viapori, or Sveaborg, is an inhabited sea fortress built on six islands (Kustaanmiekka, Susisaari, Iso-Mustasaari, Pikku-Mustasaari, Länsi-Mustasaari and Långören), and which now forms part of the city of Helsinki, the capital of Finland. Suomenlinna is a UNESCO World Heritage site and popular with both tourists and locals, who enjoy it as a picturesque picnic site.
Finnish submarine Vesikko
Vesikko is a Vesikko-class submarine, which was launched on 10 May 1933 at the Crichton-Vulcan dock in Turku. Until 1936 it was named by its manufacturing codename CV 707. Vesikko was ordered by a Dutch engineering company Ingenieurskantoor voor Scheepsbouw in 1930 as a commercial submarine prototype. Vesikko was one of the five submarines to serve in the Finnish Navy.
Herttoniemi
Herttoniemi is a neighbourhood and a suburb of Helsinki, the Finnish capital. It is located about 7 km east of the city centre and can be easily reached by metro in 10 minutes. It has an older northern suburb and a newer coastal suburb with ferry connections to the city centre. There once was a large harbour in Herttoniemi, but in the 1990s, this industrial harbour area was demolished and converted to a tightly populated residential area and marina.
Korkeasaari
Korkeasaari is an island in Helsinki, Finland where the country's biggest zoo is situated. The English name of the zoo is Helsinki Zoo. The zoo is located on a 22-hectare rocky island. It's connected to mainland via a bridge to Mustikkamaa, where there is access to the zoo all year round. A ferry and water buses take visitors to the island summertime from Kauppatori and Hakaniemi. Korkeasaari is one of the most popular places among visitors in Helsinki.

The station was one of the first metro stations opened in Helsinki, on 1 June 1982, and was designed by Jaakko Ylinen and Jarmo Maunula. It is located 1.8 kilometres from Kalasatama metro station, and 1.4 kilometres from Herttoniemi metro station.

The station was one of the first metro stations opened in Helsinki, on 1 June 1982, and was designed by Jaakko Ylinen and Jarmo Maunula. It is located 1.4 kilometres from the Kulosaari metro station, and 1.4 kilometres from the Siilitie metro station.
Siilitie metro station
Siilitie or Igelkottsvägen is a ground-level bridge station on the Helsinki Metro. It serves the northern part of the district of Herttoniemi in East Helsinki. The station was one of the first metro stations opened in Helsinki, on 1 June 1982, and was designed by Jaakko Ylinen and Jarmo Maunula. It is located 1.3 kilometres from the Herttoniemi metro station, and 2.1 kilometres from the Itäkeskus metro station.
Kulosaari
Kulosaari is an island and a suburb in Helsinki, Finland. It is also the 42nd neighbourhood of the city. Construction of villas on the island started in the beginning of the 20th century, and a bridge from Sörnäinen was opened in 1919. Kulosaari was an independent municipality since 1922 until 1946, when it was merged to Helsinki. Trams served the island from 1910 to 1951 – before the first bridge was completed, ferries were used to transport the trams.
Siilitie
Siilitie, literally "Hedgehog Road", is a road in the suburb of Herttoniemi in eastern Helsinki, Finland. The surrounding district and its metro station are also named Siilitie, according to the road. The metro station is one of the original stations of the Helsinki Metro. Most of the low-rise apartment blocks in Siilitie district were built in the 1950s, but a few taller buildings as well were erected in the 1990s.
Suomenlinna Church
The Suomenlinna Church in Finland was built as a Greek Orthodox garrison church for the Russian troops of Suomenlinna sea fortress in 1854 and originally had five onion domes. It was converted into an Evangelical Lutheran church during the 1920s. Its extensive iconography was warehoused by the city of Helsinki, and their current whereabouts are unknown. Today its central dome doubles as a lighthouse making it one of only a few churches in the world that double as a lighthouse.
Tammisalo
Tammisalo is a wealthy neighbourhood (number 44) and an island in eastern part of Helsinki, Finland. The population of Tammisalo is approximately 2,200 and its area is 0.73 km². The nearest districts are Herttoniemi, Roihuvuori and Laajasalo. In the viking era the coastal waterway from Sweden to Arab world went between Tammisalo and the continent along Porolahti bay.
Roihuvuori
Roihuvuori (Swedish: Kasberget, or Roihis and Roihika) is a quarter, part of Herttoniemi neighbourhood in Helsinki, Finland. The population of Roihuvuori is approximately 8,000 and its area is 1.47 km². There is a church, two schools, shops and restaurants in Roihuvuori. There is also a water tower, Japanese style garden and playground Tuhkimo. Each street in Roihuvuori were named after fairy tales, with the exception being Roihuvuori's main street (Roihuvuorentie).
Santahamina
Santahamina is an island and neighbourhood of Eastern Helsinki, Finland. At present it is a military base housing the Guard Jaeger Regiment, making access restricted. The Finnish National Defence University (NDU) is also located on the island.
Kuivasaari
Kuivasaari (Torra Mjölö in Swedish) is a Finnish island in the Gulf of Finland, near Helsinki. The island gets its name, meaning 'dry island', from the fact that there is no fresh water on the island, and water is instead pumped from the nearby Isosaari island. The whole island is a military installation and access for civilians is heavily restricted. A number of coastal artillery guns are installed there, including some exceptionally heavy 12" / 305 mm pieces.

National Defence University (Finland)
The Finnish National Defence University is the Finnish Defence Forces' university located in Helsinki. The university trains officers for the Defence Forces and the Finnish Border Guard. The university has sites in Helsinki's Santahamina and Kruununhaka and in Tuusula. Prior to 2007, the school referred itself in English to as the National Defence College.

Marjaniemi is a seaside residential area in eastern Helsinki, Finland, with a population of approximately 2,000. Administratively it forms a quarter in the neighbourhood of Vartiokylä. Marjaniemi is a sought-after neighborhood, and the real estate prices rank among the highest in the city.
Kuninkaanportti
Kuninkaanportti or Kungsporten (Finnish and Swedish respectively for "the king's gate") is the principal entrance to the fortress Suomenlinna outside Helsinki. It is on the southernmost island of Suomenlinna, in front of the Kustaanmiekka strait, and is considered the main symbol of Suomenlinna. The gate was constructed from 1753 to 1754 at the place where King Adolf Frederick of Sweden anchored his ship when he was coming to inspect the construction of the fortress.
Vanhankaupunginselkä
Vanhankaupunginselkä (also called Vanhankaupunginlahti, Swedish: Gammelstadsfjärden) is a bay area which together with parts of adjoining Viikki district constitute a natural conservation zone near downtown Helsinki in the southern part of Finland. The area is listed in Ramsar Convention on Wetlands of International Importance, is part of European Union's Natura 2000 program and is also listed as BirdLife International's Important Bird Area.
