Kamppi
Kamppi is a neighbourhood in the centre of Helsinki, the capital of Finland. The name originally referred to a small area known as the "Kamppi field" (see below), but according to the current official designation, "Kamppi" encompasses a much larger area with a population of 10,000 in 2004. The heart of Kamppi is a part of the Central Business District.
Eira
Eira is a neighborhood in Helsinki, the capital of Finland. The district dates back to the early 20th century and received its name after Eira Hospital in the neighboring district of Ullanlinna, which in turn took its name from Eira Hospital in Stockholm, which was named after Eir, the old Scandinavian goddess of healing. Eira is located south from the city centre. The neighbourhood has some of the most expensive and sought-after old apartments, built in jugend style.
Punavuori
Punavuori is a neighbourhood in Helsinki, the capital of Finland. After the new location and growth of Helsinki in the 18th century, Punavuori became the area next to the center. During the 19th century the district had a seedy reputation. Most of the brothels and beerhouses were found in Punavuori. The social problems were aggravated by quickly built rent-apartments for the poor. After World War II, the district went through a process of gentrification.
Hietalahti, Helsinki
Hietalahti is an unofficial district in the city of Helsinki, Finland. Hietalahti is a southern district, bordering the seaside, situated between Ruoholahti in the west and Kamppi in the north. Main attractions in Hietalahti include Helsinki's most popular flea market, a luxurious hotel and a couple of seafood-themed restaurants. The Helsinki International Bible Center and a Hare Krishna organisation are also located in the Hietalahti-Ruoholahti area.
Helsingin normaalilyseo
Helsingin normaalilyseo (Finnish for "Normal Lyceum of Helsinki") is a school in Helsinki, Finland, consisting of the upper part of primary school (peruskoulun yläaste, grades 7 to 9) and secondary school (lukio). Unlike most other schools in Helsinki, the school is not owned by the city of Helsinki, but is instead part of the University of Helsinki, which itself is owned directly by the state of Finland. The school is considered one of the most prestigious.
Mannerheimintie
Mannerheimintie, or Mannerheimvägen, named after the Finnish military leader and statesman Carl Gustaf Emil Mannerheim, is the most famous street in Helsinki, Finland. It was originally named Heikinkatu, after Robert Henrik Rehbinder, but was renamed after the Winter War. The change of name was also suitable due to Mannerheim having paraded in along that road during the Finnish Civil War, after German forces allied with Mannerheim's Finnish forces had retaken the city.
Erottaja
Erottaja, meaning "the separator", is a public square near the centre of Helsinki, Finland. Erottaja square has been selected as the official geographic "zero point" of Helsinki. Distances to all other cities in Finland are measured starting from here. In practice, the square functions as the meeting point of central Helsinki's two famous streets, Esplanadi and Mannerheimintie. The square is the western endpoint of Esplanadi, with the eastern endpoint being at the market square.
Eurovision Song Contest 2007
The Eurovision Song Contest 2007 was the 52nd edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. It was won by first-time appearance as an independent country Serbia and was held at the Hartwall Areena in Helsinki, Finland from 10 May to 12 May. The host broadcaster was YLE. Finland earned the right to host the event after heavy metal band Lordi's victory at the Eurovision Song Contest 2006. It was the first time the Contest had been held in Finland.
Three Smiths Statue
The Three Smiths Statue is a sculpture by Felix Nylund, situated in Helsinki in Three Smiths Square at the intersection of Aleksanterinkatu and Mannerheimintie. This realistic statue, unveiled in 1932, depicts three smiths hammering on an anvil. The smiths are naked. Nosturi
Nosturi is a culture and music hall and a nightclub in the Punavuori district of Helsinki, Finland. It is owned by the Association of Live Music (Elävän musiikin yhdistys, ELMU). The hall is located at the seaside in Hietalahti next to the Helsinki New Shipyard in an old cargo terminal building. It gets its name from the old crane (Hietalahti crane number 6) located right next to it. Many popular live music festivals are held at Nosturi throughout the year.

Forum (shopping centre)
Forum is a shopping centre in Helsinki, Finland, opened in 1985 and located between the streets of Mannerheimintie, Simonkatu, Yrjönkatu and Kalevankatu. The original Forum building is located in the corner of Mannerheimintie and Simonkatu. The shopping centre has been constantly expanded to also fill other buildings in the city block. The shopping centre includes an underground parking lot, with connections to the nearby surroundings, including to Stockmann.
St. John's Church, Helsinki
St. John's Church in Helsinki, Finland is a Lutheran church designed by the Swedish architect Adolf Melander in the Gothic Revival style. It is the largest stone church in Finland by seating capacity. Situated in the Ullanlinna district of Helsinki, the church was built between 1888 and 1893, the third Lutheran church in Helsinki, and still the biggest.
Tavastia Club
The Tavastia Club is a popular rock music club in Helsinki, Finland. The house is owned by Hämäläis-Osakunta, one of the student nations at the University of Helsinki, but since 1991 the club has been operated by a private enterprise renting the house from the nation. It is located in central Helsinki Kamppi district on the street Urho Kekkosen katu. The capacity is 700 people.

Deutsche Schule Helsinki (German for "German school Helsinki") is a German-speaking school located in Helsinki, the capital of Finland. The school was originally founded in 1881 through funding from the German consul Freiherr von Lanazan, wealthy German families and the Church of Germany. The school was originally held in various private apartments but now has its own facilities in Kamppi. The school is open for everyone with an interest in the German language.

Eira Hospital (Finland)
Eira Hospital is a private hospital in southern part of Helsinki, Finland. It has given its name to the adjacent Eira district of Helsinki. The architectural landmark is located at Tehtaankatu and Laivurinkatu cross, with address at Tehtaankatu 30 in Helsinki. The building was designed by Lars Sonck and its construction was completed in June 1905. It is named Eira after similar Eira-named hospital in Stockholm. In Icelandic Poetic Edda Eir was the art-of-medicine goddess.

Ressu Upper Secondary School is a school located in central Helsinki, Finland. Ressu is one of the oldest Finnish speaking schools in Finland and is considered to be one of the most prestigious schools in Finland. Ressu is the most difficult lukio to gain entry to across all of Finland, with admission typically requiring grade point averages above 9.5 on the Finnish scale of 10.0.
Hämäläis-Osakunta
Hämäläis-Osakunta (HO, colloquially Hämis) is one of the 15 student nations at the University of Helsinki, Finnish-speaking and established in 1653 at The Royal Academy of Turku. In 1828, the Academy moved to Helsinki adopting the name university and Hämäläis-Osakunta moved there along with the other nations. HO represents the historic region of Tavastia, so it recruits its members actively there. The building of the nation, built in 1931, is located in Kamppi, on Urho Kekkosen katu.
Hietalahdentori
Hietalahdentori is a square in Hietalahti in Helsinki, Finland. The area is known for its popular flea market, which is open from May to September. During World War I it was used as a Russian horse barracks. The market began in 1906, and was known for a long time for its high quality food.
Helsinki Old Church
The Old Church of Helsinki, designed by Carl Ludvig Engel and completed in 1826, is an Evangelical Lutheran church in Helsinki. The oldest existing church in central Helsinki, the church was originally planned as a temporary building as the Ulrika Eleonora Church constructed in 1727 had become too small for the congregation and the new church, Helsinki Cathedral, would not be completed until 1852.
