Herttoniemi
Herttoniemi is a neighbourhood and a suburb of Helsinki, the Finnish capital. It is located about 7 km east of the city centre and can be easily reached by metro in 10 minutes. It has an older northern suburb and a newer coastal suburb with ferry connections to the city centre. There once was a large harbour in Herttoniemi, but in the 1990s, this industrial harbour area was demolished and converted to a tightly populated residential area and marina.
Kontula
Kontula is a quarter of Helsinki, Finland, part of the Mellunkylä neighbourhood. Due to its little higher than average concentration of government tenant housing complexes, immigrant and refugee population it is regarded as an average eastern Helsinki suburb. Kontula has been built mostly in the 1960s and 1970s when apartments were required in Helsinki. Many people from the city centre moved to Kontula. Metro expanded to Kontula in 1986 which made it easy to reach the area.
Itäkeskus metro station
Itäkeskus or Östra centrum is a ground-level station on the Helsinki Metro. It serves the Itäkeskus shopping centre and surrounding areas in East Helsinki. After the Itäkeskus station, there is a fork in the metro line: one branch continues north towards Mellunmäki, while another goes east towards Vuosaari. The Itäkeskus station was one of the first metro stations opened in Helsinki, on 1 June 1982, and was designed by Jaakko Ylinen and Jarmo Maunula.
Myllypuro metro station
Myllypuro or Kvarnbäcken is a ground-level station on the northern branch of the Helsinki Metro. It serves the district of Myllypuro in East Helsinki. The station was opened on 21 October 1986, designed by the architect bureau Toivo Karhunen Oy. It is located 1.9 kilometres from the Itäkeskus metro station, and 1.4 kilometres from the Kontula metro station.

Kontula or Gårdsbacka is a ground-level station on the northern branch of the Helsinki Metro. It serves the district of Kontula in East Helsinki. The station was opened on 21 October 1986, designed by the architect bureau Toivo Karhunen Oy. It is located 1.4 kilometres from the Myllypuro metro station, and 1.6 kilometres from the Mellunmäki metro station.
Puotila metro station
Puotila or Botby gård is a ground-level 'cut-and-cover' station on the eastern branch of the Helsinki Metro. It serves the districts of Puotila and Puotinharju in East Helsinki. The station was opened on 31 August 1998, making it one of the newest stations in the Helsinki Metro. It was designed by the architect bureau Kaupunkisuunnittelu Oy Jarmo Maunula. It is located 1.0 kilometres from the Itäkeskus metro station, and 2.0 kilometres from the Rastila metro station.
Rastila metro station
Rastila or Rastböle is a ground-level station on the eastern branch of the Helsinki Metro. It serves the residential areas of Meri-Rastila and Rastila in the district of Vuosaari, in East Helsinki. The station was opened on 31 August 1998, making it one of the newest stations in the Helsinki Metro. It was designed by Irmeli Grundström and Juhani Vainio. The station is located 2.0 kilometres from the Puotila metro station, and 1.2 kilometres from the Vuosaari metro station.
Itis shopping centre
Itis (formerly Itäkeskus) is a shopping centre in the district of Itäkeskus in East Helsinki, Finland. It is the largest fully enclosed shopping centre in the Nordic countries, with a gross leasable area of 120,300 square metres containing nearly 300 different shops and 3000 parking spaces. Located nearby is also the Itäkeskus metro station. The shopping centre is divided into four sections: Pasaasi, Pikku-Bulevardi, Bulevardi, and Piazza.

Tammisalo
Tammisalo is a wealthy neighbourhood (number 44) and an island in eastern part of Helsinki, Finland. The population of Tammisalo is approximately 2,200 and its area is 0.73 km². The nearest districts are Herttoniemi, Roihuvuori and Laajasalo. In the viking era the coastal waterway from Sweden to Arab world went between Tammisalo and the continent along Porolahti bay.
Roihuvuori
Roihuvuori (Swedish: Kasberget, or Roihis and Roihika) is a quarter, part of Herttoniemi neighbourhood in Helsinki, Finland. The population of Roihuvuori is approximately 8,000 and its area is 1.47 km². There is a church, two schools, shops and restaurants in Roihuvuori. There is also a water tower, Japanese style garden and playground Tuhkimo. Each street in Roihuvuori were named after fairy tales, with the exception being Roihuvuori's main street (Roihuvuorentie).
Vartiokylä
Vartiokylä is a neighbourhood in eastern Helsinki, the capital of Finland. Its name is derived from the ruins of an eleventh century fortress on the Linnanvuori hill in Vartioharju, one of Vartiokylä's subdivisions. The working population of Helsinki started building their houses in the area after the completion of Uusi Porvoontie, a road to the downtown, in the 1930s. Nowadays the area has a few high density apartment areas as well as houses. Vartiokylä became a part of Helsinki in 1946.

Helsingin yhteislyseo
Helsingin yhteislyseo (HYL) is a school in Kontula, Helsinki Finland consisting of a lower secondary school and an upper secondary school with over 50 teachers and 700 students in total. The school was founded in 1908 and it is privately maintained by Maanviljelyslyseo (Agricultural Lyceum). The school celebrated its 100th birthday in 2008. Helsingin yhteislyseo and Lapinlahden yhteislyseo relocated to a new building and to its present location on the Rintinpolku street in Kontula in 1971.
